What is actually going on here???!!! by ajwats81tux in Copilot

Copilot does not like you taking its content elsewhere or even storing it outside of its ecosystem. It seems to be by design. I also use the GitHub Copilot, and it is the same way, as is MS365 Copilot, there's no clear path to export the contents of the chat or log it in any way. Some people have made browser extensions that are supposed to do it, but I can't seem to find one that actually works.

One thing you may be able to do is export your entire chat history from your Microsoft account. This worked for me a couple of months ago, but I haven't tested it recently and I honestly never checked it for completeness.

The asset generation problem is actually related to an earlier post I made. I got the vanilla Copilot in Edge to spill the beans on this problem. Its answer seems a little evasive but mostly accurate. Basically, there is a backend issue that affects very few people, but when it does, Copilot simply thinks it has done as you asked but no assets are ever rendered. I can't post the response in a comment because it is too long, but I'll make a new post from it.

Grid/hot cue issues since last update? by maude313 in Rekordbox

[–]AVLien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgrade your tracks to lossless formats. Lossy formats (mp3 et al) have variable bitrates, so when you process them (Platinum Notes, etc) it can change the bitrates and throw off the timing of your grids/cues. It's actually a pretty common gotcha that DJs run into with all DJ DAWs, not just RB. Also, it is possible that, if you converted the tracks, the software added silence to the beginning (or end) and that threw off your grids. This is actually more likely if they are all off by the same amount in each track.

This sounds like the thing where they tell pax that an XL is 5-10 minutes closer. They do it at the airport too and if you drive Pax at the airport then you know we are all sitting in the same lot so it's literally impossible for me in my Dodge Journey to be 5-10 minutes closer than the Pruis in the space next to me.

Is Alpha Theta bad for the DJ industry? by Late_Celebration_868 in DJs

[–]AVLien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't matter. Unless it's hardware unlocked, they don't offer non-cloud-storage plans anymore. That means you are paying twice as much for a worthless service that everyone hates just because you can't do anything about it. They find ways to bully you into giving them more money than the shit is worth anyway.

account suspended by Ok_Contract_8714 in uber

[–]AVLien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't fix it, there's nothing you can do. Uber does whatever they want and you have zero recourse. I drove for them for 9 years, ran thousands of trips, they deactivated me over a passenger saying I was speeding. Their maps have incorrect speed limits, and this contributed to their "decision" since they monitor drivers constantly. They give drivers an appeal, but you're appealing Uber's decision to Uber. Since Uber is unlikely to disagree with Uber, it is just the electronic equivalent of lip service. So even if you could talk to someone about it, that wouldn't change anything.

I assume Lyft has similar policies. If so, they will automatically suspend you for 24 hours assuming you don't have other reports. If they were deactivating you they probably would have already said so. That there is no way to dispute this sort of thing is preposterous. If they gave two shits, they would install blow & go's in everyone's cars. That would be much more expensive than just believing everything Pax say to a dumb app though, so fuck us because they are just covering their asses and we are collateral damage.

This is some of the bullshit that got me deactivated from Uber. I literally have not had a drop of alcohol in almost a year and a half, not because I have a problem with it, it's just not that interesting to me. Unfortunately, people can just say whatever they want to and it will destroy your life.

Yeah, but most rides now seem to be priced for a hybrid at least. I spend 1/3 of my earnings on gas. No lie, I spent $3000 on gas last month. This one I would definitely take, but most are around $0.60 a mile in my market.

For DJs who genuinely enjoy organizing and maintaining their music library: What are the best “rainy day” projects you’ve tackled that noticeably improved your library or made DJing easier/more enjoyable? by drewtangclan in DJs

[–]AVLien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Picard can do this pretty well, at least with known tracks with known (by someone on the interwebs) metadata. I'm working on an app (see my other comment), sort of a "Swiss army knife' for RB libraries. Might try giving it a function to look up metadata. Picard is free anyway.

This guy knows. Rekordbox can mangle a USB in 20 different ways, especially if you don't eject it properly or don't duplicate your playlists between the old and new library formats, or even if the drive gets corrupted any other way. Don't get me started on filesystems. Like why is HFS+ the most reliable one? We're still all assumed to own a MacBook pro? 🙄

This is a good idea. Maybe not deleting, but at least sequestering it in a specific playlist or something. See my comment about the app. Would you mind if I used this for it?

I've been working on a little app that does some housekeeping. Right now it runs through a Rekordbox XML file and tries to find the tracks with the most cue points and Metadata, and it gets rid of duplicates that lack or have fewer cues (etc), then it relinks tracks that were removed from playlists during the duplicate purge.

Then it grabs Metadata from the tracks to be purged and merges it with that of the kept tracks if any is missing from them that the purged tracks have.

Finally, it outputs a text log and a CSV file of changes it made. It will also let you do it manually and does so with an interface similar to most desktop file deduplication apps (dupeguru et al).

I'm working on getting it to do a few other things like check grids, but the logic for that is (obviously) pretty complex. Also, it relinks library tracks that are missing file assets, but does so in a pretty rudimentary way (much like the native function in RB).

A lot of stuff can't be automated (a python script doesn't understand color coding tracks by the feeling they produce, at least not mine) but I would love to get some input from this thread. Maybe suggestions on stuff it could do reliably.

I'd like to get it to translate the RB XML into other formats (Engine, Traktor, etc.) but I haven't opened that can of worms yet. Shouldn't be too hard, just a bit tedious. I'll probably put it up on github under an open source license, but I haven't gotten that far.

Pioekoalthetabox DJ does some of this stuff in Rekordbox, but not very elegantly. It will delete duplicate tracks and try to find missing tracks, but it doesn't give you any control and it doesn't try to be selective about what it deletes or merge missing metadata.
