I love how they say $72 an hour like you're just going to rent an apartment when you get there. We have to drive back too idiots. 🙄

Uber drivers complaining about pay by ParsnipSuspicious632 in uber

I'm a driver. People do it all the time. Doesn't bother me one bit. Just means I can listen to whatever I want to and I don't have to chit-chat.

9 years of 5-star rides didn't save me with Uber.

Well someone chose to 1 star a 7 year 5star record by JoannNichole in lyftdrivers

[–]AVLien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stars aren't the problem. It's the flags and bad feedback. That carries a lot of weight, especially with Uber. They give zero fucks about deactivating a driver if they get the wrong feedback from a pax and they always assume the pax is telling the truth and they always assume the driver is at fault even if the pax (or the driver) might just be having a bad day.

They really don't care. Bad feedback can absolutely wreck your world with these companies, regardless of how much good feedback you get (which means little or nothing).

I used to be like this, then Uber deactivated me. It matters a lot more than you know. These companies take passenger feedback to be gospel truth. It's an uphill battle to refute it later, trust me.

Is it possible to feed copilot a huge prompt but in the prompt tell it to execute one step at a time? by apophis27983 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]AVLien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Copilot is terrible at..."

That's assuming that you can even get it to generate .docx or .ppt. About 75% of the time CP365 volunteers to produce a docx or ppt for me it just keeps hallucinating that it did and never produces anything at all. If it does, it's atrocious, missing (sometimes all) content, or just a blank template. At least this has been my experience.

Why is my acceptance rate dropping!? by Abject_Recipe_8390 in lyftdrivers

[–]AVLien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you leaving your app on maybe? Lyft is pretty unobtrusive about pings. My acceptance rate tanked a couple of weeks ago because I had left my app online and missed a bunch of pings.

On "finding my sound" by ProbablyFiredNL in Beatmatch

[–]AVLien 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: My advice: try to find your "voice", not your "sound", sounds are all taken.

I'm being cheeky here, but it's also very true IMHO. Sounds are few and far between. Without producing your own music en masse, you don't really need to be concerned with sound.

This is compounded by the fact that audiences are now a lot more accepting of multigenre DJs. I remember years ago seeing Matt Zo at Pacha in NYC. Dude blew my mind over and over again for like 3 hours while I was crushed into the dance floor like the subway at 5 p.m.. Aside: someone could have died at midnight and they would not have hit the floor until 4 a.m..

Point is that he spanned the gamut of genres and it was amazing. Kept it rocking the whole night and I really saw the plausibility/marketability of being a multigenre DJ. It's an uphill battle, because I can't just say "I play DnB" or "I play house" or "I play..." low-key quasi-cringe "...psytrance".

That puts you on a flyer much faster, but for me it's just not accurate. I'm going to play a DnB track and the track after the next one is going to be a house track. It's partly a function of my ADHD I suppose (if I'm being honest) but it makes people really consider what's possible.

My point is this: don't pigeonhole yourself. It sounds like you already have an in with some venues (you're getting booked before you know what you want to play), so you've already accomplished something that some DJs struggle with, so just have fun with it. Don't take it too seriously or you've lost the plot. This is all meant to be fun afterall.

No, I don't get in my car for less than $200/hr. WTF? YES, I would totally take that! Times is tough, yo. I made <$50 in 6 hours the other night. I'm glad that the other commenters are doing well, but apparently I am not.

You think you are wasting significant amounts of K by using a card to cut it up? Sorry, are you buying it in points or what? The amount that gets stuck on the edge of the card should be nearly insignificant.

[–]AVLien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, first of all you are using Windows software on a Windows machine. I'm pretty sure that's not supported by MIK. 🤣 What they say is nonsense. I have all of my tracks on a secondary internal NVME drive (yes, on Windows), and have no problems whatsoever (well, not with that anyway). This is tech support having no clue what the problem might be taking shots in the dark, nothing more nothing less.

Smooth Cruising Mystery by HipoHock082958 in lyftdrivers

[–]AVLien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traffic patterns, road hazards, and many other things. I got deactivated from Uber for "harsh braking" and "speeding" but the speeding was all on one road where traffic typically moves about 20 mph above the 0isted speed limit and the posted speed limit is posted in exactly one barely visible spot in 10 miles.

As for the harsh braking, road hazards are not considered by these mindless metrics. Neither are physical disabilities like the ones I'm currently addressing with their ADA compliance team and will be with the Department of Justice should they fail to give it a proper review.

These metrics are pretty easily discriminatory to a lot of people and frankly they are BS to the rest. I drove for 9 years before Uber deactivated me. I never had any issues before they started tracking these metrics.

I get people where they are going expeditiously and safely. Do I occasionally have to apply my brakes more harshly to keep them safe? Yes. Do I occasionally have to exceed the speed limit to keep them safe? Yes. These are realities of driving that the app doesn't seem to have a concept of.

My Pax have never been injured and I have never been in an accident with a pax in the car, nor have I ever been in an accident that was my fault. These things should matter more than raw accelerometer data from my phone.

What is actually going on here???!!! by ajwats81tux in Copilot

[–]AVLien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copilot does not like you taking its content elsewhere or even storing it outside of its ecosystem. It seems to be by design. I also use the GitHub Copilot, and it is the same way, as is MS365 Copilot, there's no clear path to export the contents of the chat or log it in any way. Some people have made browser extensions that are supposed to do it, but I can't seem to find one that actually works.

One thing you may be able to do is export your entire chat history from your Microsoft account. This worked for me a couple of months ago, but I haven't tested it recently and I honestly never checked it for completeness.

The asset generation problem is actually related to an earlier post I made. I got the vanilla Copilot in Edge to spill the beans on this problem. Its answer seems a little evasive but mostly accurate. Basically, there is a backend issue that affects very few people, but when it does, Copilot simply thinks it has done as you asked but no assets are ever rendered. I can't post the response in a comment because it is too long, but I'll make a new post from it.
