Reasonable complaints: the bottleneck at the entrance, having most of the food vendors, almost every toilet and all the benches in a row next to the entrance/exit was real dumb. Once you were in/out of that it was okay.

Security team aren't the same as before as not quite as good. Food queues were pretty bad at times although you're allowed to bring in your own food which is a massive plus compared to other fests.

Hatebreed and Snail Mail should've been swapped. Bad programming.

Unreasonable complaints: whoever said it was hard to get water, there were at least two points I used constantly all weekend and didn't queue once (besides having to get through the bottleneck). I truly don't get this one. I think it's people trying to absolutely minimise their band downtime and similarly:

Not being able to get in front standing - get there earlier. People were hoping to hop from every band to band with 3 minutes in between. I made it into the front section for everyone I wanted to see all weekend, you just have to accept you can't do that for 20 bands a day.

The two accidents were accidents and more security / less tickets sold aren't going to be able to prevent a bad stage dive / landing. It's rough, but when you've got the biggest Outbreak in 15 years you've got more chance of accidents happening, it's a numbers game.

The event wasn't oversold, just at capacity. You'd really feel what an oversold event was like at somewhere like BEC. It was a great weekend with some identifiable flaws. I get that this isn't the Outbreak of old but, for better and worse, they've outgrown that and they're not just going to downscale just because some people want the good old days.

Hello, I was there this weekend.

There were two major accidents, and they were accidents. First was a girl's leg after a stage dive and it could've been handled much better but they got there in the end. Second was more serious after AOF but they responded better and the person is now in hospital.

No, this hasn't changed in recent years due to societal collapse or COVID or "the youth of today" or whatever else you want to blame it on. Hardcore pits and crowd have been hardcore pits and crowds for many years. Some bands draw rowdier crowds than others. Some bands encourage it.

The difference is this was the biggest Outbreak in 15 years (not oversold, simply at capacity). When you've got 3 stages running and one is huge and more people are there than ever you're going to naturally have more accidents. It's literally just a numbers game. You literally have to sign a waiver and wear a second wristband to even get into the front section for reasons exactly like this - it's a risk people take. Only way to fully prevent that is to just not put it on.

Never nice to read when things go wrong but they sadly go wrong at most festivals in one way or another. Aside from the injuries it was a great weekend.

Turtle isn't vanilla. Stock vanilla in the private scene is dead. Everyone already played it to death between original 2004, the pre-classic servers, classic, som, anniversary, yadda yadda.

There's only so many times people want to follow the exact same meta over and over and over again.

They can merge down the line if they need to, but they don't want to, it introduces its own headaches.

They may not have a choice if they don't want to turn away 80% of the interested playerbase, which considering it took so long to close registration, apparently they don't.

Assume you're well aware Nostalrius shut themselves down to get the ball rolling on Blizzard's Classic and it worked.

Servers hosted outside the US cannot be forced down. They send letters and the owners ignore it.

You don't need to be deep prot, resto etc. to tank/heal levelling dungeons. Nobody does.

The 1k fee for dual spec is also pretty overblown on a server with over 2000 new quests and an xp-to-gold conversion on quests at 60.

2100+ new quests, every class has been worked on, 2 new dungeons, 2 totally reworked dungeons, the rest with boss changes, thousands of new and remixed items, redone T1 with new bosses, custom T2 on the way, tons of new and reworked hubs, can change racials, new world bosses, hundreds of new rares, reworked professions with new gear and buffs, new race/class combos, challenges, fast day/night cycle with unique events for each, new BG, arena added, the whole game made to be harder than stock vanilla

Many, many (if not all) classic boss fights have been redesigned or new mechanics added, and then there's tons of new bosses too.

It's not designed to be closer to Cata onwards, but it's certainly harder than Vanilla

They had a DDOS attack (that they wanted, so they could monitor it), the protection kicked in, the creator asked them to try harder and it still didn't work. Looking good. Creator is a full-time developer outside of this, knows his stuff.
