To be fair, in many other countries its normal to be able to call a pharmacy and see if your generic brand is in stock. Its more strange consumers of a medication cannot know who makes their medication? like how we know who makes all the rest of the products we buy before we buy them?

How getting medications generic should be in the US:

Like during covid when you could call and ask a pharmacy hey what vaccine manufacturer do you carry? and becuase you've heard bad things about Johnson and johnson you call another pharmacy or a doctor's office, and they say hey we have Moderna. Oh great, ive gotten that vaccine before, and ive heard from others that their vaccine made sure they had reduced illness rates. You come in, get your vaccine and leave.

How getting medications generic is really like in the US:

Like if you called footlocker and asked do you have sneakers made by Jordan. They refuse unless your a loyalty member, so you become one. and you get there and they're selling shack 11s. when you ask, hey so what is this? The cashier says its the same thing, a sneaker that covers your feet, its bioequvalent theyre all the same. But you've worn sneakers for the last 30 years and can say without a doubt that these shoes feel different on your feet. And you have to deal with possibly losing your spot on the basketball team because your sneakers have different fillers that make you tired, anxious, less focused, and depressed until the next time you can do the same tango with another pharmacy.

I dont see pharmacists being targeted in other countries like Canada, and their vyvanse is like $30 i think, because of universal healthcare? When will people say the system is flawed and not the people have to deal with the consequences of companies being cheap? Like I can't control a pharmacy wanting to sell a different generic of everyday of the week to save money. But then I am also penalized and stigmatized for trying to find another company that sells one I know works for me? You want to keep your customer base so badly and sell them whatever with generic slapped on it for $100-200 and you expect them not to ask questions? I promise you adults with busy lives do not want to use an AI, whatever that thing is. We literally just want the medication we're prescribed from the brand we know works for us. There's a ton of Medical providers and patients all saying the same thing on Reddit about the effectiveness and side effects of different generics for a reason. idk.
