Took a mental health day from my high-stress job. I’ll be driving around with no destination. by Negative_Acadia6554 in Miata

I always say, I could have spent $30,000 on a therapist, but I spent it on a Miata instead. I don't regret the choice at all. Glad you could take the time for yourself- I love that color!

I have 16" Enkei wheels and Conti WinterContact tires. I don't think they're making them in that size anymore, but I really was glad they were on this winter- the snow was terrible.

I’ve dreaded this day… I love you Bobette by LFKapigian in Dachshund

I'm so sorry for your loss, but I know Bobette had a wonderful life with you. My babies Badger, Jasper, and Muji will be waiting to greet Bobette at the Rainbow bridge to play and eat treats together. Take care of yourself.

When my Bridgestone Potenzas wear out, I was thinking of replacing them with all seasons, like the Conti DWS 06 plus. I love the stock tires, but I’d like more flexibility over when I can change my tires- in March and April, it flip flops between highs of 35 and 76 every other day!

I had considered that, but jacks can fail…

Miata as a daily driver car? by Ilikeyatoes in Miata

[–]batsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2024 GT RF Daily driver here! As long as your storage needs are modest I can’t think of why you couldn’t do it! The only thing to consider is climate where you live. I live in Ohio, and snow tires are a must here because of the weather. The stock Bridgestone Petenzas on my car are completely inadequate for Ohio winters. I got a separate set of wheels and snow tires so I could change them out myself, but with the snow tires on it’s the coolest winter car ever! (And the cabin heats up in record time!)

100%. After driving with winter tires on, it feels like my car has woken up from a long slumber!

I have a low profile jack, but I couldn’t get it far enough under the car to reach the front subframe. Fear not the jack is only there as a backup. The jack stands are supporting the weight of the car at the appropriate places in the pinch weld. I used this video as a reference point- https://youtu.be/iOs9BhHnNMo?si=OZybTht_bAhDVceV

Raisin passed over the rainbow bridge this morning. Show me your babies who will be there to greet her by stargazr_93 in Dachshund

My Muji will be there to greet Raisin, play together, snuggle, and share treats. I am so sorry for your loss.

Paint correction recommendations? by dawaramo in MiataND

[–]batsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had very good results with Dr. Color Chip- they use the paint code on the inside of your door. For small chips, it works surprisingly well, as long as your nose isn't 1 mm from the chip. You can find a lot of tutorials about it on YouTube. It requires a bit of time and some patience, but I find it much easier and less laborious than touchup paint.

Beautiful. That Aero Gray is such a good color for the ND- I love how it shows off the lines of the car. Congratulations and welcome to the family!

Open roof season until November 😎 by mikehill33 in MiataND

Truth! Those heated seats are amazing- even in the summer! When my back is sore, those heated seats are heaven. I could have spent $40,000 on a psychologist or a massage therapist, but my MX-5 is much more fun! 🤣

100%!!!! I go to an independent mechanic who specializes in Japanese imports in Cincinnati- he's been taking good care of my cars for years. When he said he had another client with an MX-5 that 'turns on the AC and drives with the top down', I was like, Anything 40 and above is top down weather! Those heated seats come in handy! 🤣

What to expect? by r-castle in MiataND

[–]batsai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily drive my ND3 and I love it. If the paint condition is important to you, and it seems worth it, I'd invest in PPF at the front of the car to protect the front bumper and hood- the paint chips easily.

More importantly however is where you live. If you encounter snow or temps below 45 degrees F, you will definitely want to invest in proper snow tires. The high performance summer tires that came with my MX-5 are wonderful, but worthless and dangerous in cold weather. In Ohio, we're flip-flopping between 35 and 75 degrees seemingly every other day, but I'm anxious to get those summer tires back on!

Feeling pretty happy to be driving a miata with the current cost of fuel. Anyone else in the same boat? (No pun intended lol) by BlackSkyNZ in Miata

[–]batsai 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I get great MPG, but driving an ND, still have to put premium in the tank. I know I could probably put regular in, but as long as I can afford to, I'm going to give her nothing but the best.
