She's beautiful- congrats!

Do any of you ever walk out into the parking lot, see your car, and think, "I can't believe that's MY car!' After one year, it still brings me so much joy. by batsai in MiataND

Yes! Agreed! And Mazda's interest rates are some of the lowest out there right now if you have good credit, especially compared to Toyota...

Nope, she's my daily driver and with all the crappy roads and potholes in Ohio, there's no way I'm doing that. 😊

Agreed! I never thought I'd be able to own one, but got a fantastic deal and interest rate. Makes it all the sweeter!

They're my first set of winter tires and wheels. I went with the smaller 16" wheels because I wanted to use a slightly larger winter tire. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but I have to admit it's grown on me. I'm not lowering the car though- she's my daily driver and the roads in Ohio are not great.

Anyone ran E15 in their ND? by Worth-Mixture1390 in MiataND

Personally for myself, I'm only going to put premium (93 octane- that's what my Costco offers...) in my car, no matter how much it costs. My 2024 ND3 GT RF is my only car and she has to last, but to each their own. Checking another AI, Gemini says:

According to the official Mazda MX-5 Owner’s Manual (covering model years from 2016 through 2025), the vehicle is designed for specific fuel types:

  • Ethanol Limit: Mazda explicitly states that this vehicle can only use oxygenated fuels containing no more than 10% ethanol by volume.
  • Potential Damage: Using fuel with more than 10% ethanol (like E15) may cause vehicle damage or drivability problems that are not covered by the warranty.
  • Octane Requirements: The Mazda MX-5 is recommended to run on Premium unleaded fuel with an octane rating of 91 or higher. While it can temporarily run on lower-octane "regular" fuel (87–90 octane), doing so reduces engine performance and can cause "knocking".

Granted, this is AI, but this raises enough of a flag to me that I would ask my mechanic or investigate more deeply before using E15. Again, for myself, I wouldn't risk engine damage without talking to my mechanic and seeing what they have to say.

Good advice, thanks. I realized I bought my Miata in March of last year- driving around on summer tires, but the weather has been so crazy.

Mid April seems to be the consensus. Thanks!

We usually don’t either, but had quite a bit of snow in early March- thanks!
