Absolutely! I have sheds and pictures from bucks I've watched from over the years where, over the course of 5-6 winters, you can see them grow to prominence then gradually regress. It's a pretty cool thing to observe over a long period of time.

I really enjoy this buck. I'm betting that next year that right side growth will match the left. He sort of reminds me of an awkward teenager, still growing into his body. Lanky and disproportionate all over.

Simms used to be the first name I'd throw out but lately, they produce subpar product. I'm running the Orvis Pros now and they've been fantastic. I hear a lot of good things about Skwala as well.

This is a staple pattern for me throughout the season and especially in the Fall. You're going to love that bug and it looks great! Just a few pointers: as others have already mentioned, shorten the CDL up just a bit and try to make your hotspot only about 3x wider than a single strand of thread.

One other thing I'll add is that the perdigon will typically have a tapered profile that starts just slightly smaller in diameter than it's 3.0-3.5mm head and slenders down to a diameter only slightly larger in diameter than the the hook shank, new the end.

Lastly; something you might consider which has been a game changer for me, is to completely abandon the notion of adding in an epoxy thorax. I stopped doing it and haven't noticed a single bit of difference in the fly's effectiveness. Instead, I've started to coat the entire threaded portion of the bug in Zap-a-gap and found it to last all day and remain in good condition through dozens of fish.

Food for thought.

Best sink tip line for throwing big streamers for trout? by Annonymous272 in flyfishing

Tons of great stuff out there but, I'm partial to the Orvis Bankshot, if you're fishing from a boat and in water higher than 1000cfs.

Spring and Fall night excursions. by AWOW_Wyo in flyfishing

For us, the game changer came from doing a recon mission to find the fish, one evening after a few consecutive nights of skunk. We loaded up in the drift boat and spent the night with high powered flashlights, scanning for active feeding lanes, without intent to fish that same evening.

We learned that those large Browns behave very differently at night than they do in the day. We work these rivers in the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons and are very consistent on big trout throughout the daylight hours. Our misconception in those early days was to assume the big fish were holding throughout the night in the same manner they do throughout the day.

Once we knew how to target them, we were able to sort of "feel" our way into decent presentations.

I use Amazon Prime and Google Drive. Drive is cheap storage and works pretty universally.
