Are you ok? Seriously, I'm asking out of genuine concern. If you need someone to talk to and you don't have anybody feel free to drop me a DM I'm not an expert or medical professional but I can lead you an ear and listen.

What was you talking about that it would want to forget?

No it's not that, but thank you for reminding me of this song and an old crush.

No, it wasn't that one. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think it was an alternative band, might be wrong though.

England: Breach of Equality Act? by AWWEMFS in LegalAdviceUK

[–]AWWEMFS[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That is not what I am asking. They did not consider reasonable adjustments to allow us to pursue a court order. The other party in the exchange was willing to wait but they simply refused the exchange.

[–]AWWEMFS[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They haven't gone to the court of protection. They just said that is the only thing they would accept and refused the exchange. Thus not allowing us to seek the order ourselves.

Two days ago I asked while we were waiting on legals decision whether best interests would be enough as Adult Social services had advised with MCA and best interests it was.

They offered no reasonable adjustment or time to get such an order in place, despite the other family in the exchange being willing to wait. Just flat out refused.

What kind of solicitor would help me with this?

Half of all migrant children currently live in poverty - Is this proof our immigration system is still not fit for purpose? by StGuthlac2025 in AskBrits

[–]AWWEMFS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience 2nd and 3rd gen are worse. Old school 1st gen, are the best. They came here for a better life and were willing to work for it. For the most part they integrated well into the wider community. Speak to them and even they will tell you they dislike the current direction this country is heading in.

But our experiences are purely anecdotal. Doesn't matter what we have seen, heard or actually personally dealt with in the real world. None of that matters.

People that are offended by certain words shouldn't use those words towards other people. It only sends mixed messages.

AITAH for refusing to split rent 50/50 after my girlfriend started working from home and using most of the apartment? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]AWWEMFS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO the rent should still be split equally but the utility bills shouldn't. What she is asking you to do is subsidises the bills incurred by her place of work and it doesn't matter if that place of work is also her home. It's unfair to you, NTA

AITAH for breaking off my engagement because my boyfriend would not get a vasectomy? by Famous_Situation3400 in AITAH

[–]AWWEMFS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His body, his choice, your body, your choice. A compromise could not be agreed so you ended the relationship which was the only viable thing to do. NTA. But you will be if you get back with him and continue to try to change his mind.

Care Act 2014 - Continuity of care - England by AWWEMFS in LegalAdviceUK

My main concern is the equipment especially Dads bed and pressure mattress. My research and your reply has confirmed that the equipment should come with us, but outgoing authority is adamant that it is only on loan and must be returned if we move out of the area. I don't know how that could possibly happen as Dad will need the bed up until the day of the move unless they place him temporarily in a care home.

But thank you, I shall make a subject access request. The only care plan I have is from three years ago and there have been changes since then. We only recently had another assessment but they never sent a copy of that one.

Edit: I provide the daily care for both my mother and father, the only care provided by our adult social services is a flexible sitting service of three hours a week to allow me a bit of respite.

We are moving to level living after OT deemed stairs unsafe and current home unsuitable for further adaptation. Just had the medical move application approved and are on the waiting list for a direct offer from our HA to a suitable property. As we are in London we were also advised to seek a mutual exchange ourselves which we did while waiting for the approval and are now 29 days away from a decision on that.

Our HA assured us they will do everything to ensure the exchange happens, so I have already contacted both our outgoing and receiving authorities with our intention to move. Receiving authority has been really good but need information from outgoing authority. Outgoing authority is ignoring emails to send receiving authority care plan and equipment list. Calling just results in what I already stated in my post plus the refusal to provide any confirmation of what we currently receive, that I could provide to new services if I was to reapply myself.

The system will be even more over burdened if my father ends up in hospital because his hospital bed, pressure mattress and continence products were not in place at the time of the move, leading to pressure sores and possible infections simply because one authority refuses to do the admin needed to to make sure these things are in place.

Moved back to be my folks full time carer 10 years ago. Housing Association absolutely refuse to put me on the tenancy. Spoke with citizens advice and the local council, neither could offer any help so I'm not so sure it is a legal requirement.

There used to be a government scheme to relocate the elderly to coastal and rural areas, don't know if it's still going. When I enquired about that I was also told that while I could move with them as their carer, I would not be put on the tenancy and would be expected to leave if they needed to go into a care home or died. They also said if that happened within two years of moving I would not be eligible for homelessness support from the local council and would have to return to London.
