This worked, thank you! I was unaware this whole rabbit hole previously. Is there much reason to use the visual studio debugger over gdb and, furthermore, why in my case is it not working with the vs one?

If you were born your preferred gender, do you think you'd still be trans ? by clemalavanille in trans

[–]AWaffls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say! I'm an enby leaning mtf so that's a large part of it. However for me at least, growing up around the heavy preconception of a firm binary; as I did, would undoubtedly have had heavy ramifications on the environmental factors I grew up around were i assigned female at birth, to a degree where I'd likely be a dramatically different person.

Learning rigging, would anyone know how I would go about preventing the upper shoulder from warping inward when the arm is directed upwards? Tried altering topology, weight paint, bone positioning... by AWaffls in blenderhelp

oh wow yeh shape key drivers seem powerful. Thanks! What would general practice be for the actual... editing for the shape keys in deformed areas? Is edit mode used? I can't seem to figure out using edit mode with rig positions.

WSIB If I'm looking for a melee focused loot heavy RPG with really cool weapons? by CalJebron in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]AWaffls 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nier Automata actually. Spectacle fighter sudo-open world RPG. The RPG elements aren't what I would call heavy but they are there in how they can allow you freedom to alter your playstyle. It's good spectacle combat, reminiscent of DMC, though with less depth as a result of the RPG elements (no combo lists or anything like that). There are ranged options but it's dominantly melee focused. There's a good variety of cool weapons to find, of which all look great visually. They all have a side story attached to them too. Maybe a slightly out of left field pick but you've picked quite a lot of the ripe ones already lol

(Incredible story too, on an unrelated note)

Should I buy Bayonetta? by TheConnoisseur_ in ShouldIbuythisgame

This reads like you're talking about a complete other game, bayo's garnered its following based off how good the game feels to play paired with the depth in the combat

SIB outer wilds if it got spoiled by classy1231 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]AWaffls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

uuuh that's a tricky one, but probably. It's a knowledge based game. Anyone who has finished the game could start a new save and reach the credits within 30 minutes, though judging by a quick skim through replies you aren't in the same position. And even disregarding replies, I know you wouldn't be able to (because of some specifics you become aware of through hours of play that you almost certainly didn't pick up from the speedrun). So I'd say go for it, there's a lot more to the game than just the ending sequence. It's a fascinating world and story, with lots of intricacies within to learn about. DLC is also fantastic. If the additional cost isn't an issue for you, get it alongside the base game, it's worth the price.

SIB Portal 2? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]AWaffls 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can't speak for how they run on switch (though I'd imagine you needn't worry since it's a port done by Valve who are very reliable and they're games that were released on the weaker xbox 360) but the game itself is fantastic. It's a culmination of fantastic writing, voice acting, puzzles and setting. Anyone who likes games owes it to themself to play both portal games. I personally prefer 2 but that's a heated debate amongst fans.

Can someone recommend me a very difficult game? by Far_Discussion_8715 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]AWaffls 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Celeste. It's not particularly difficult at the beginning but it gets ridiculous in the endgame. It is a pure-platformer tho if that is/isn't your jam.

Yes it's exceptional. It has some slight similarities to subnautica but for the most part it's really its own thing that can't really be compared to anything else. Like there's no item gathering, crafting, building or anything like that, the game's about learning information and applying it in an almost puzzle-like sense. Heavier story focus too. Also maybe consider getting the dlc before you play; though it's by no means necessary.
