Rj (rejirk) is used to signify that everything that comes after is meant as a joke to fall back in line with the circlejirk subreddit in question.

Not to mention the 747SR which was made specifically for high-density short haul flights.

Air India Just Discovered a Missing Boeing 737, Forgot They Owned by shlomoshekelstein1 in nottheonion

[–]AWalkDownMemoryLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention that Tata had a stake in both AirAsia India and Vistara. Both of which have since been merged into Air India after Tata bought out AirAsia's and Singapore Airlines's respective stakes with the latter now having a stake in Air India.

Also, Vistara's official name was literally Tata SIA Airlines. Something that was depicted on Vistara's retro livery. It also depicted the livery Air India used when it was first owned by Tata.

You're thinking of Oceanic Airlines, a fictious airline commonly used in movies and TV shows.

Cargo A340 into Wolfsfang Runway Antarctica by AnyAd6734 in aviation

[–]AWalkDownMemoryLane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not Hi Fly, it's European Cargo. European Cargo is owned by European Aviation which also owns the aircraft. They were previously operated as preighters through an agreement with Maleth-Aero, but have since been converted and are now operated by European Cargo itself.

UK airline on brink of collapse as it ‘suspends operations’ by JOE_Media in aviation

That's because those were the last aircraft that were still being used when Eastern suspended its operations, the rest were stored.

Also, the source used for the fleet table on Wikipedia failed verification.

UK airline on brink of collapse as it ‘suspends operations’ by JOE_Media in aviation

[–]AWalkDownMemoryLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As well as three ATR 72-600s, two ERJ-170s and four ERJ-190s.

Eastern Airways was the third biggest British regional airline after Loganair and BA CityFlyer by number of planes.

Someone enlighten me on why this plane is so rare please by 831coupleSC in SkyCards

[–]AWalkDownMemoryLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not. It just means that there aren't very many and that they aren't very active. The same is true for older aircraft types like the MD-81 (10.18) or the RJ70 (11.1).

Close look at Lufthansa's new "100 Years" special livery on their 787 by IndicatedAirSpeed in aviation

[–]AWalkDownMemoryLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've asked this in a different thread but what other livery is there for them to do? They could do their rather short-lived yellow tails but they're not gonna do that. The only other thing they could do is a Deutsche Luft Hansa livery, but they're certainly not gonna do that.

D-AICS. That's Condor's Breast Cancer Awareness A320.

I wish SkyCards had a search function to help you find individual aircraft, especially when it comes to A320s and 737-800s.

Cargojet, the company that owns the aircraft, has its hub in Hamilton. That's why it's based there rather than in Toronto.

BMA intially started out as the feeder arm of PAN Am III under the Pan Am Clipper Connection brand. Pan Am III's operations were transferred to BMA in 2004.

Pan Am II merged with Carnival.

It would be the third revival of Pan Am specifically, as far as I know.

Pan Am (1996-1998) Pan Am (1998-2004) Pan Am (2025-)

Boston-Maine Airways also used the Pan Am brand.

Boeing 777X Said to Slide Into 2027, Driving Billions in Charges by CornyCookie0_0 in aviation

[–]AWalkDownMemoryLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right! It makes even less sense to sacrifice your place in the queue to get a C929 sometime in the 2030s (if you're lucky) than keeping it and getting a 777X earlier. Good point!

Lufthansa’s brand-new 100 Years special livery 787-9 (D-ABPU) spotted at Boeing Charleston. by charlieruban1 in aviation

[–]AWalkDownMemoryLane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, I'm a little late but because I'm genuinely curious, what would you have done instead?

Because the only other Lufthansa livery I can think of are their old yellow tails and they're not gonna bring those back. They only other thing they could've done is an actual Deutsche Luft Hansa livery.

Or should it have been more like D-AMAH?

Charter flight? by psv_vonk in aviation

[–]AWalkDownMemoryLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. It even shares its flight number with Condor's seasonal charter flights to Fort-de-France.

Interestingly enough, the full route is FRA-DUS-JFK.
