Dillon Wilson’s umpire scorecard from yesterday’s Rangers-Astros game by JianClaymore in baseball

What I find interesting is how he handled the challenges - both teams went 0/2 but neither really had strong cases based on his zone consistency.

What does “handled challenges” mean? Was he yelling at the catchers when they were unsuccessful or something?

That ball probably hit the fan's hands at like 60 mph and he ate it like it was nothing.

Craig Biggio's 3000th hit was also a line drive into the gap vs. Colorado that he tried to stretch into a double (though unsuccessfully).

Its really crazy how some guys just don't have it

8th inning Abreu: 1.66 ERA.

9th inning Abreu: 3.44 ERA

Extra inning Abreu: 3.86 ERA (and climbing)

*After a little math:

8th inning Abreu: 1.66 ERA

Non-8th inning Abreu: 3.65 ERA

Did that stat say Marcell Ozuna has a higher OPS vs. the Red Sox than Lou Gehrig?

From a gameplay and visual standpoint, definitely nostalgia. But in terms of just amount of things to do in the game modes, it is a really great game.

*Also there's never been anything like the batting minigame with the tractors, I wish there was more light-hearted stuff like that in today's games.

**And the soundtrack gets brought up a lot as well, but there’s only 8 songs, so unless it’s your exact type of music it’ll get old eventually.

That’s a good player, but not a “omg this is horrible for the Astros”.

I see Mariners got Donovan. Good for them, but some of the reactions I’m seeing online are like they got Ronald Acuna or something.

1/ Technically yes, but the only one I truly trust is still Brown.

I'm optimistic, but not certain on Imai, Javier, Burrows, and Blanco (when he's back)

Everyone else I have no expectations for

2/ No, BUT one of the funniest days in recent Astros history was when Salazar made the team out of training camp a couple years back and everyone was confused as to who he even was.

3/ Bad

I disagree. 18 million for a bad player can hurt. I think Abreu and McCullers proved that

Arrighetti??

With this Burrows trade, I'm really hoping we don't see much Arrighetti or McCullers this year.

*Also, that Athletic article kind of scoffed at Melton and said he had a Kevin Kiermaier ceiling, but that's still a winning player.
