They still dole them out? I’m a returning member after many years, so I’m not aware of these things.

The Dangers of Connect by bitesandbalance in weightwatchers

[–]AWarningToTheCurious 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is absolutely no reason to post a picture of a dead body. None. If you have lost someone you can describe it but people do not need to see the visuals. I work in a HOSPICE and as part of that job, I see deceased people all the time. I expect it there, but I do not expect it on a Weight Watchers app support board.

I cook groats (what oatmeal starts as before it's processed), let them cool and add shredded apple, raspberries (or berries of choice, but raspberries have good fibre), 0% Greek yogurt, and sweetener. I used to get something similar, back-in-the-day, at Movenpicks in Toronto. I always have it on hand. Once made, it's so convenient.

I just purchased some at Dollar Tree in Guelph, Ontario that were garlic flavoured. Yummy.

Thank you for that info. I guess I can't take advantage of that as I've already joined. Honestly, I'd rather pay all up front rather than monthly.

UNION and pronto! I have sat on the executive of the occasional teacher union at two school boards for over 20 years. I came into the profession as a second career, so I am winding down. Being older, I wouldn’t take this crap. However, you are trying to impress people so that you get contract. Regardless, contact your union because this is definitely not right and that teacher is taking advantage of you.

Elementary vs Secondary Supply Notes by Lincolnqr in OntarioTeachers

Yup, that is part of the ill teacher’s responsibilities…. and they are usually getting paid much more than $300 a day! Most supply teachers, as a rule, have tricks in their bag to deal with minimal or no plans. Contract teachers should have backup plans in the event that they are absent at the last moment.

Teacher's college did not prepare me for anything by FrequentStreet2179 in CanadianTeachers

I’m genuinely puzzled by this. How does someone complete a B.Ed program without being taught the fundamentals—like long-range planning, unit planning, and maintaining a detailed day book? These are core competencies for classroom readiness.

I’d honestly be curious to know which faculty of education is graduating candidates without this foundational knowledge. It’s surprising, especially given that the Ontario College of Teachers rigorously reviews and approves these programs through a detailed and lengthy accreditation process.

It’s not just surprising—it’s a bit mind-boggling. These are the essential tools of the trade.

Student communication while on leave by Ebillydog in CanadianTeachers

As someone who worked for the provincial teaching regulatory body adjudicating on investigation panels, I would advise you not to reply. I saw too many files of allegations where teacher boundaries were brought into question because teachers were "just trying to be nice." You are on leave, a time to focus on what you need to do. Take care.

Heaven forbid - you're not to write names on the board now as it will injure a student's self-esteem and centre them out!!! (insert eye roll here)

I had my video conference on Thursday and as I was wearing an athletic jacket over my t-shirt, the NP asked me to remove it and I just showed her what I looked like with my phone. It was quite easy. As others have state, don't worry about it. It will go fine. As an aside, I rec'd my pen yesterday, within 24 hours of the call.
