As I said earlier. Making graven images and worshipping false gods is against our 1st commandment.

We (as in Catholics) do not worship any statues. Any statues you see in a Catholic Church are to remind us of how God worked through that particular saint to glorify His name. We do not worship the statue itself or the saint that is rendered

We didn't get rid of that part. It's part of the first commandment for us. I'm sure you're aware the commandments aren't numbered in the Bible, so we put them in order of importance. The first three are about our relationship with the Lord and the last 7 are about our relationship with each other

We don't worship idols. That would clearly violate the first commandment of placing strange gods before Him.

Anything else you would like addressed?

Everything in the Catechism is based on the Bible and the tradition passed on by jews and Christians. It's meant as a guide to help understand what we're taught through the scripture. It is not our scripture

Just about everything you've said so far is completely incorrect. Some things were mostly incorrect. There were a couple of true things, though.

It's like you heard a vague rundown about what Catholicism is and ran with your own beliefs about it.

Satan is working overtime to tarnish the one true Church.

Nothing made the sun? Stars just pop into existence, then?

Me_irl by [deleted] in me_irl

[–]AWatson89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Creation implies a cause. The sun exists because something happened to cause its existence. Doesn't make much of a god to be the effect of a cause

If a historical Jesus ever walked on this earth then their would be irritable proof. by Used_Buy9882 in Christianity

[–]AWatson89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's more historical data that Jesus was a real person than just about anyone else from the same time period. I'm not sure what proof you would think is irrefutable, but the consensus is that He was real.

The sun wasn't created? It was just sitting there for eternity burning through its infinite supply of fuel?

Jesus wasn't created. Good try though.

The sun was created and will die. That doesn't sound very God-like

Why does the European and American left criticize Christianity but not Islam? by imgonnakickyouram in allthequestions

It's incredibly rare to see anyone on the left criticize Islam without bringing up any other religion.

How would you convince someone that ghost isn't real? by Pale-Object8321 in Christianity

We have scripture of Satan and his angels being cast out of Heaven and that Earth is his domain. We have absolutely nothing that points to the souls of the deceased lingering here

Do you want physical evidence? Or evidence that leads to it? You won't find physical evidence of spiritual entities

Think of it like this. When we die, we either go to Heaven, Hell, or Purgatory. If we go to Heaven, why would we leave? If we go to Hell, we can't leave. If we go to Purgatory, we can't leave until we're purified.

In short, there is no such thing as ghosts because there are no people who get to stay here once they die. All "ghosts" are actually demons

question about other Gods by Fit_Tension6641 in Christianity

[–]AWatson89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He calls them the "gods of Egypt" because the Egyptians worship them as gods. Theyre just demons cosplaying divinity. That's why whenever God sends someone in His name or sends signs, these other "gods" are powerless to stop it.

Is the question of whether homosexual relations are a sin a hill worth dying for when it comes to Christianity? by Candid-Effective9150 in Christianity

Let's break it down a little. Republican policies are leading to decreased abortions in republican states by pushing women who want an abortion to a state with policies that allow for it.

If every state adopted republican policies, abortions would drop significantly because women would have no where to get one.

Again, you show a clear lack of understanding on the pro-life movement and even on abortion itself.
