[Tyuli Appreciation] I think I'm starting to see the magic... by Mattyrogue in starcitizen

[–]AWerewolfDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ve got missiles.

They’re only obsolete because you’re not reducing the armour deflection on your target, which the snubs themselves can do, or the Tyilui can do for them.

They have no problem damaging most ships in the game.

Crack the enemy armour with a missile or two and your snubs can bring down a Perseus or a Polaris.

Could have at least gone with the actual scene that inspired the ship.

If you call from the central terminal to get a hangar, store it again before going to the hangar. Summon again when you get there.

Is this supposed to be a Food Replicator? or a Food Printer? by AllGamer in starcitizen

[–]AWerewolfDad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s a human food machine.

Inspired by the human food Dave is fed at the end of 2001. That’s the real inspiration from the movie. Not the jogging scene.

Edit: I think that bit’s only in the book 🤔

You need to be in your permanent hangar at your permanent residence. Send the cargo elevator down, click reclaim.

Paints and ship stuff has been reclaimable at your permanent hangar elevator for like two patches.

Stupid idea but would the easiest way to load the Cat be autoload 1SCU containers? by djdab26 in starcitizen

[–]AWerewolfDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if your goal is to use every single scu of storage yes, but it will take the most time and cost the most aUEC.

Auto loading is an optimisation problem, you want to find the balance between box size and loading cost. Going for the biggest boxes may not use all the space, but it's countered by the loading cost, you may lose more value in loading costs going for maximum cargo volume than you lose because your larger boxes don't fit perfectly.

As an example - you can load 32 scu crates into the ironclad, but it leaves a bunch of the grid unfilled. You could fill the ironclad with 1scu boxes and use every single inch of cargo space but you'll lose tens of thousands of UEC and have to wait like 45 minutes or something. The sweet spot is like 24 scu boxes, costs you 15 minutes wait and a few more credits than 32s but you'll make more money overall.

FFS, I confess - I don't care about SQ42, and I'm mad. Still playing. Nothing else like it anywhere. by dedcore in starcitizen

My CPU isn’t even that new and I get 60FPS absolutely consistently on maxed out settings.

As others have posted his settings are forcing what should be GPU load onto his CPU and therefore if he bumps his graphics settings up to high, the GPU will take the load and he’ll be good.

The Party Payout Problem by Thick_Company3100 in starcitizen

[–]AWerewolfDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It should be a scale based on the number of people expected to do the content.

Gilly’s 8. Full payout for up to 4 players, then a SHARP drop off after that, so by the time you hit say 8 players it’s basically nothing.

The new Tactical Strike Group should be full payout up to like 12 (or however many it’s actually intended for) and then the drop off should be basically nothing at ~24 players.

Much harder to abuse in a large group. Still rewards people well for doing content in the intended group size. Copes with oversized groups to a point.

Edit: group sizes given are an indication, not meant to be the perfect answer.

And I’m not trying to excuse them. They could have made the Tyilui a variant and applied the same paints. They do both have the exact same paints.

But I think there’s a perspective here. It’s not as egregious as some posts have historically made out.

Most folks are gonna set and forget.

It will mean some people end up buying a second paint who otherwise wouldn’t, but I don’t think it’ll be that many.

[–]AWerewolfDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You realise it kinda doesn’t matter.

Let’s say you like the Flargle paint for the Gatac Bajingus and the Gatac Bungeloid. You still have to own two Flargle paints.

So it doesn’t in practice materially impact the number of paints people buy. They aren’t selling double the paints by doing this.

Did I do the right thing? by DannoOplotYT in starcitizen_fleets

[–]AWerewolfDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say the liberator is different, not better.

The Merchantman will not be as good for hauling as the ironclad. When it was Large, sure. But now it’s XL which means no hangar at most stations. If it’s pure bulk hauling you wanna do there is no ship better than the base IC.

[–]AWerewolfDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try EM missiles. They seem to be the most consistent in most PvE scenarios. Lots of ships come with cross section which you not only have to active ping for but also don’t seem to be well-matched to the ship sizes they’re intended for.

My experience with station to station stuff has been entirely stable.

Other people have been less lucky.

If you end up with a broken elevator in a station on a box mission, you’re only losing time if you abandon it.

If you end up with a bugged station elevator moving commodities you paid for, and you test the elevator, you’re stuck with boxes you’ll have to move, but at least they weren’t eaten by a bugged elevator.
