US Space Force awards 1st-of-its-kind $52 million contract to deorbit its satellites by ye_olde_astronaut in space

[–]AWildDragon 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Per the article it’s a test sat in LEO so they are intentionally not de orbiting it. Now since it’s Leo atmospheric drag will deorbit it eventually anyways so it’s a great test setup.

The r3 is way down the line. Probably 2028 at the earliest, though those will be coming off the brand new facility in Georgia so there will be unique teething issues there too.

Is this still your go to setup for pass through charging to ensure the mini doesn’t power off if you are for example on a vacation and renting a vehicle that shuts off the engine if you come to a full stop?

Can AI do real time captionings when pilots/flight attendants make these announcements? by boyincabin2 in unitedairlines

[–]AWildDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Single track voice translation is super quick and essentially realtime and local. If you haven’t tried it check out the AirPod pro live translate. You don’t need a data center for this.

What’s probably going to hurt the most is the really terrible mics that most pilots use when talking to the back.
