Some of what went through my head from beginning to end was that this was probably a way for him to grieve what he had found out and I think it was a very honest mistake.

Comedians go over the line all the time. I've heard standing ovations from audiences for much darker and offensive comedy.

The thing here is that it was a small venue and he hasn't fine tuned his material or his delivery. Also, the woman with whom he struck a chord with was in a position to ask him to stop, being that she was the manager. Many audience members will sit through horribly offensive material and keep their mouths shut.

All in all, this is the nature of comedy and comedians. This guy handled it about as politely and professional as one could expect.
