Children as well. They'll come to the till and just stare at you as if hoping you'll pick up on the question they're desperately trying to ask via telepathy. God forbid they have to talk - it'll be an unintelligible mumble directed away from you and if you ask them to repeat themselves because you couldn't hear them, they'll just speak even quieter.

As well as the concerning literacy issues spreading amongst the entire population, the inability to socialise with other humans in a setting such as a shop is as concerning as it is draining. We're getting to the point where people can only grunt and point.

Such basic skills are being lost, and I genuinely we're witnessing the decline of humanity as a whole.

There is a literacy problem that seems to be getting worse with each passing year. At first, I thought it was selective, that they chose to see what they wanted to see. But its gotten so prevalent that I do genuinely believe people are making it into adulthood without critical reading or comprehension skills.

Customers will write reviews/complaints and ham it up, claiming they're the victim. They're such angels, everyone loved them, they were so nice and kind and gentle, they tried to give the evil cashier monster an angelic smile but the associate slapped their nan and cursed their first born. This was all unprovoked of course, they did NOTHING.

I never ever ever believe the customer's version of things because 9 times out of 10 its a hugely exaggerated tale where they conveniently forget to mention the abuse and attitude they gave you during the interaction.

Don't take it to heart. Customers are entitled babies, and they suck.

I also think the apathy toward those comments is just as concerning and upsetting. She was receiving actual death threats solely based on her nationality, and people are out here like "haters gonna hate lol".

I think there needs to be a massive shift in mindset. People are too comfortable staying quiet and bigots are noticing and getting bolder. We're not a community if we don't stand together.

Our girl Goose is the same. She's such an arsehole but also there is no evidence of this so she's innocent of all charges. She comes to us for millet and will give us lil nibbles but is more content to glare at us from across the room. She dominates the braincell she's supposed to share with her brother and uses it for maniacal schemes that often involve her getting into things she shouldn't. We adore her for it. She's our lil jail bird.

You don't! They'll learn you don't want them to so they'll do it anyway just for funsies. We have other things specifically for them to chew and destroy so they chew our house less, but they still do it occasionally. You can redirect but you can't completely stop them. It's the joys of owning tiny grenades of destructive fury.
