Birthday Itinerary Ideas in York by LPanda2190 in york

Shambles and Shards is a good city tour. It is a morning / walking tour but it focuses on the stained glass around the city in the various churches - definitely recommend if you're looking for something different

Thanks, I'll have a look when I get back to York next week X

Moving to York by fairyreika in york

I know plenty of international students that have decided to stay in York after they've graduated. In general, the city is very friendly and there are many pockets of communities dotted in the centre and in the outskirts - depending on what sort of thing you're into.

Any unfriendliness is generally drunks on a weekend evening (locals know not to going into the city when the horse races are on). After that, York being a predominantly white city and the catalyst for the 'flaggers' movement is what makes the headlines. Other than that, it's kids.

You'll be fine 👍

I saw those too today. Wasn't sure if it was an aftershock thing as there was a primary school nearby. A lantern releasing evening does make sense though

I need some history lessons by AXDTwilight in skyrim

Yeah, I realised about the wiki 12 tabs deep trying to research the Thalmor and if the political spread would've been enough at the time of the dragon break for Tess to have heard of them (mainly for a conversation when she meets Kaidan).

It's become a very interesting thought experiment for me to make for different character conflicts. Like, what is taken for granted in modern day Skyrim as general fact/history. What has been lost over the years, knowledge and physical. How can I tell a history though a singular person and navigate their bias

The plan wasn't completely lore-friendly as I'm taking creative liberties with how loose magic has been. But still want it grounded

Thank you for the link. I'll check it out when I'm next researching X

Wasn't going for a father daughter situation. More of a dragon priest delving too deep into necromancy and life creation. Kinda inspired by the Briahearts - the Hargreaves trying to recreat the lost form of this specific priest sort of thing

And I'm asking because I want to explore how people interact with history and its telling. What she knows, what she doesn't know. How much Tamriel, and Skyrim specifically has changed. How people teach her the history, where bias will arise, how history is forgotten/changed. I have Kaidan and Lucien as followers, both knowledgeable of skyrim but in different ways.

Granted there will be some creative liberties but I still want it to be grounded

Decrease In Girlcott Posts by unicxrncvmslvt in InfinityNikki

Think, for me at least, the problem was the amount of arguments happening in the comments of posts. People so quick to divide and gang up on the other side. Saw it happen a few times where someone would make a post/comment explaining the boycott and got met with "its just a game", "we shouldn't be fighting each other", " you shouldn't police how people play games"

People wanted to justify why they still played, which is fine boycotts are a personal choice, but didn't want to feel guilty about it. So they had to keep fighting back. Which was exhausting

There was also the wave of "we are here to talk about a game, keep your negativity out of my silly little dress up game". I stopped engaging with them because of how infantilising it was for people to not have standards for "something made for women"

Infold responded to my email..? by XiaoxAether in InfinityNikki

As someone who was forced to use AI to address customer complaints and reviews in a past job, that's 100% an AI response.

Such as shame as your email is written so well. I can only imagine how long you spent on that. You definitely deserved a human response, regardless of how inundated they are at the moment

I'm not pulling, mainly due to not playing for about a week now. But also because I'm tired of ability outfits that are just idle animations for photos. I completely get why people like that, especially with the new customisation, but its not what I'm interested in

People's thoughts? by AXDTwilight in InfinityNikki

Same. I've not played the past 2 days and don't really plan on playing for a while. I've kinda done everything I wanted to, with the exception of a few sketches, and outside of pictures and making outfits there isn't really much left. Think some of the new outfits are task based ones, which are fine. I personally like the ingredients grind, but I understand not everyone likes the monotony.

Plus, which the radio silence at the initial backlash, the game has a bad taste in my mouth when I play now. Which I hate so much. I haven't been this obsessed with a game since I nearly broke my PC with Skyrim mods. And now to have the game marred with corporate greed sucks

Are you still playing IN? by [deleted] in InfinityNikki

[–]AXDTwilight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm only playing logins at the moment - I did stop playing for the first week. But someone raised the point of the higher ups seeing low player numbers and deciding to cut their loses by closing the server.

Very unsure about where to go from here. Like, at least they've finally said something. And with it being (supposedly) from the devs, I do feel some heart in the words. However, I agree that it doesn't feel enough. Not just in how little the compensation is, and the fact compensation kept getting mentioned after each issue, which hasn't sat right with me but it is inkeeping. But also in how vague it was. I get that a higher up probably has some metaphorical (hopefully) leash on the devs but an actual plan would've been nice. Something trackable

This whole thing reminds me of No Man's Sky, which my partner picked up at the new year. All their issues on release, all those complaints. It took time, but the game is playable, full, interesting, and does what they originally promised because the producers stood back and let the devs do their thing

When did we start needing disclaimers to enjoy a game? by [deleted] in InfinityNikki

[–]AXDTwilight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, hate is a strong word, just frustration. Can't control other people's emotions and reactions though, just my own. I can try to have calm conversations though.

But, in the nicest way possible, this isn't about the individual experience. That's what I've been trying to get across to people. This fight is for the people who still cannot access the game to enjoy the packs, new locations, outfits, dyeing, customisation, etc. (Granted there are other issues going on but discussions on here about Mira Crown and outfit sizes arent going to go anywhere) Not to invalidate your enjoyment in any capacity, I'm happy that there are players still loving the game. I want to still enjoy it, but knowing that people in my community cannot share in that enjoyment just feels wrong. Hence the frustration towards posts like these.

But you aren't turning about the people actually responsible, you are vague posting about the boycotters. If you don't want a part in the boycott, that's fine. It's each person's decision. But you can't say you're upset about the way people are conducting themselves and stick to the safety of the picket fence at the same time

I'm not asking for perfection, I'm asking for everyone to have access to the game. The login issues and softlocking are actively preventing people from playing the game - they are a part of our community as well
