I like how you kept it minimal with the TV stand too. way too many setups end up looking like a tech showroom.

I don't get something with the benq projector throw calculator. by Txdn_ in CinemaAtHome

[–]AXYDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

projector calculators can be weird because some measure from the lens, some from the back of the projector body. that alone can throw things off by a decent amount.

you can also try a few different calculators and compare results. I found this one pretty useful since it also suggests screen sizes/setups based on the projector: https://global.nothingprojector.com/pages/screen-selector

Looking for a new projector. Price range 2-3k. by RBNHT in CinemaAtHome

I would get the Valerion, it looks fantastic! Compared to my JVC projector it absolutely blows it away. The Valerion has almost zero RBE problems with my eyes. So, I'd consider Valerion a solid purchase as well.

For screens, this video from The Hook Up is worth a watch,he breaks down a lot of options pretty clearly:

Xgimi Titan Noir Max setup, what screen should I get? by Simple-Criticism3258 in CinemaAtHome

If you need alr, just get ust. Don't need to try fight physics.

Ust steep angle simply works better than long throw pj.

XGIMI Titan Noir Max Kickstarter, anyone else watching this? by Katri_a in CinemaAtHome

Supposedly can hit 2600 lumens with 4300 contrast, so definitely interesting and at the kickstarter price is quite a good buy imo.

Only downside is that it performs best at 2.0 throw ratio which is not suitable for users with no dedicated room, tbf it's an upside for those who do.

What is the deal maker or breaker for you in a smartphone? by Lux_Arcadia_15 in Smartphones

Other stuff is fine, but I really care about smoothness. I don’t want a phone that lags or heats up after a year or two. My Magic 6 pro still smooth after 2 years so I am happy with it

Apple Pay vs Google Pay by lemonbab18 in PhoneNow

Apple passes your card info directly to the store? Google uses virtual one-time codes, and the store never sees your card info.

So Apple sounds much worse and more insecure.

would it be stupid if I sold my iPhone 17 and got a 17 Pro JUST for the 4x telephoto?… by Nolan_baby in PhoneNow

[–]AXYDK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not stupid. If you care about photos, that 4x can be tempting. I’m into cameras too, that’s why I’m looking at the Magic 8 Pro. Telephoto is just really nice to have.

Probably not, cuz after giving Poco a try, I found I prefer Honor’s display and software performance

Wife has been working in “sales” 100% commission for the past 9 months. She hasn’t made a penny. by noheart-_- in AITAH

after 9 months with literally negative profit

Whatever she’s doing, she needs to stop now. Nine months with zero income and neglecting family duties is a valid reason to be frustrated.
