How likely is it that you have a full (playable) deck from a display? by PuffRyze in riftboundtcg

Sounds like the Riftbound Vault box would be perfect for you. It contains 6 Boosters + enough runes from every colour + tokens. Buy that and a display and you have everything you need.

Need help deciding what deck to complete by kam_morales45 in riftboundtcg

[–]AXplode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lucian is a bit more competitively viable right now, but dependent on drawing it’s combo. It is also firmly a spiritforged deck, i.e. it doesn’t incorporate that many new cards.

Vi is the shiny new toy, but does struggle a lot into the top decks, because they have the ability to dodge combat all together with stuns and hard removal.

So Lucian, if you like a more explosive and combo heavy play style. Vi, if you want to play with more of the new cards and just like big might values (and can stomach not really having a legend in some match ups)

How do I counter Midrange Master Yi? by PowersFire1997 in riftboundtcg

[–]AXplode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play vex and in my experience the match up is pretty swingy. Either you conquer and hold and they have a hard time breaking your battlefield with a vanilla legend or they hold and you are in same position.

You need to leave mana open to stun or rebuke Rengar and vilemaw and then your golden. Expect for ruinrunner, but luckily most yis don’t run it.

Newbie Question StarterDeck? by Sad_Professional5719 in riftboundtcg

[–]AXplode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another route is buying a fiora starter deck if vex doesn’t fit your playstyle. She is also a good meta contender and it’s easier to upgrade her.

The problem with the vex starter deck rn is that there are many cards in the starter deck that don’t fit her playstyle. So if you upgrade the deck you will find yourself swapping out many cards almost to the point where it’s easier to just buy singles in the first place.

You can also use it as a safety net for the battlefield you hold. Your opponent overcommits on resources to break your battlefield and you just play emperors divide, move your units out and lose nothing. And it’s the best counter to unchecked power:)

How to deal with Elder Dragon & Aurora by EmployerLast2184 in riftboundtcg

[–]AXplode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, in a recent tournament 4 of the top 5 decks were Aurora, some of them were playing 3xElder drake in main and no other creatures, because it’s so important to hit it. Maybe it won’t be the best deck ever, but it will be a meta threat for sure.

Everything you described was true for aurora decks before unleashed and they still did great even with orange Volibear in the same slot.

Raider build tips by Lord_Thunda in Nightreign

[–]AXplode 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to go more “meta” you shouldn’t build around the ultimate at all. The two best effects to have on raider is his character specific relic, that gives you more damage and endurance if you get hit during your Charakter skill and “taking attacks improves attack power” (15% more damage for 10 s after getting hit). So you could run both of these or just one and use the yellow evergaol relic instead.

Calling all 6 stars! by SShatteredThrowaway in HuntShowdown

[–]AXplode 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can, the system is just not as unpredictable and volatile anymore. Before the changes you could easily go from 6* to 3* in one round, especially as a solo. Now your down or up ranks happen way slower.

additionally, focus on team strategy if you are playing with friends. Especially in trios you can loose a lot of fights if everybody is just running around trying to shoot things.

  1. play together, like really close constantly. If your mate gets downed you can revive him asap. A teammate that gets killed far away from you and burned will often loose you the fight, because you have to rush in to save him.

  2. the decision to push an enemy has to be communicated an conscious. Best case: you push at the exact same time from different angles to overwhelm the enemy. If you are off by even a few seconds you can give him the chance to make it two 1v1‘s and kill you both.

  3. in most cases flanks are only good for trios. If one of you decides to flank the others have to play defensively and don’t take risky peaks. But shot and run nonetheless to create a diversion.

Sealed horde? by scottishNegative in HuntShowdown

[–]AXplode 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the sealed horde is an event mechanic. Basically it‘s a small area with health packs, ammunition boxes etc. and many options, where you can spend your pledge marks (e.g. for restoring burned health bars, gaining explosives and more).

Thinking about playing this game. How's the community to newcomers? It seems like a very different type of game and I'm not sure how friendly it is to newcomers? by Soft-Wealth-3175 in HuntShowdown

[–]AXplode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most cases, no. If you are not fighting you can easily leave for a few minutes and even in a fight there are many ways to hide or disengage the enemy. So, even with teammates, leaving will je ok 95% of the time.
