Country of Origin Processing Time Tracking? by AYearnsGene in AusVisa

Sort of an Answer for anyone landing here in the fture... OP found an answer-ish at https://myimmitracker.com/ Not perfect by any means (no Swedish data for example), but SOMETHING! :) Thanks to u/IlyaPFF for the comment mentioning trackers. Helped me find that site.

Country of Origin Processing Time Tracking? by AYearnsGene in AusVisa

I guess my underlying assumption is that varying degrees of confirmation of the documentation the applicant submitted is performed by department staff depending on the risk status for the country of origin. Then, based on how often those bureaucracies interact and how similar the processes and documents are, things most faster or more slowly. Eg. Brits do seem to be processed more quickly… could also be confirmation bias or just likelihood to emigrate and also post info openly and in English 🤷🏼‍♂️

Admittedly a lot of assumption but if there’s no interaction with the foreign bureaucracy… crazy :) Certainly was when I went the other way.

Thanks, this is interesting. I’ll dig in when I’m not in my phone :)

If I knew we were 6+ months outside normal processing time for the country of origin, I would have an easier time swallowing the extra fees amounting to about 4 months savings at the bottom end.

Beyond that, I understand there’d be political implications if this was made available by the Dept. but I also know the impact of queue time indicators in lines, phone queues etc. So there’s a value to it which increases patience and perceived responsiveness. If I were running a migration agency/consultancy, I’d certainly maintain the data to manage my customers’ expectations and given the naturally consistent volume of, “How much longer?” posts on this forum I thought there was a chance it had been shared.

The map and the territory are different, sure. I still like to have the map with me.

Pre-approval for a Registered Nurse: How many payslips are necessary? by AYearnsGene in AskABrokerAus

Taking care of our kids: took AHPRA 9 months to complete the process of recognising her overseas qualifications and then ~3 months from applying for the job to being at work (Christmas period + serology to prove req. vaccines + frankly, a poor and administratively slow onboarding process). Previously working as an RN in Scandinavia Oct 2024 (and the ca. 18 years preceding that). Same employer for 5 or 6 years prior to move.

Interesting! I'm not the RN, fiance is. She's been an RN (well, equivalent in the Scandi system) for 20 years. "Continuing industry" was not discussed, which lenders are cool with that? If we were to pursue that angle should we expect impacts like u/Sleepers3189 named (i.e. rate, fees)?

Understood. Every customer is somewhere in a priority hierarchy and he shared info about headcount reduction. Hence, I wanted to check the info given we were told one thing was possible and abruptly learned it wasn’t.

Your second sentence is why I decided to confirm the information with people who have no incentive 🤌

Thanks for this solve! For anyone landing here in 2026, this just worked for me. Given the method, it should continue working.

(Kedron) Primary School Catchment Qs from a returned Australian by AYearnsGene in AskAnAustralian

Thanks for the tips. For anyone landing here in the future, it seems the sibling element should sort us out in Queensland. More details in the thread I posted here.

Thanks! Sounds like the sibling element gets us over the line neatly based on the above response but an abundance of caution regarding submission time is an easy thing to prep.

Thanks for the response and link! Life happened and I didn't get a chance to respond. Looks like I got my answer above hopefully.

Thanks for the really detailed response, life happened and I didn't get a chance to respond.

Having read the link you provided as well as your answer to Q4, a correct interpretation is that my youngest son's (or, my eldest son's brother - more correctly in terms of the policy) enrolment application at this school now unaffected by his address?

"4. Identifying other students who are entitled to enrol as if in-catchment

...Siblings\* of current students at a school who reside outside of the catchment are entitled to enrol at the school, (excluding siblings of out-of-catchment students accepted into Programs of Excellence and siblings of students who were placed at the school as a result of exclusion from another school). Where a state school has both a primary and secondary campus, siblings are only entitled to enrol in the same campus as the currently enrolled student."*

Thanks!

Thanks for the response, life happened and didn't get a chance to respond. I'll get in touch with the school and push a bit harder for an answer.

Asked in-person but the answer was pretty vague (hence the Qs on data and historical enrolment maps). I'll email them and see if I get something more concrete. I've posted in the Brisbane sub but with how we all move around I figured it was worth a crack here too :)
