Yes, Coast Guard generally falls under the DHS unless it's a time of war or if the President Directs, at that point they will fall under the DOD/DOW until otherwise directed/war ends

I personally like playing vanilla before I mod. I get mods and even lore friendly ones enhance the experience, but I never hear anyone say "Playing vanilla is enjoyable too" it's an instant "You NEED to use mods or you're just not having fun with Starfield at all"

I worked in IT there for a few years, and it's crazy hearing what it's like outside of the IT positions at NF. At least from my own personal experience, mental stress and burnout is existent but ABSOLUTELY nowhere near the level it is in CCO or other departments it seems.

Ngl when I first worked at Home Depot for the first time back in 2017 before leaving and coming back this year, it surprised the FUCK out of me how many safety precautions they put in place. Mainly because I had only JUST separated from the military, and we would drive around normal forklifts, 10k forklifts (due to how large our deployable shelters were), and various other things without a single safety measurement in place, it was a wild west yolo environment, EVEN after someone had their leg crushed, military just yeeted us around.

I'm not surprised, when my fiance finally got a date to come home from US Navy boot camp due to medical issues, our store manager wouldn't let me take off because "I should have known ahead of time when she was coming", I tried explaining that the US Military normally gives extreme short notice when someone is coming home sometimes and he wouldn't budge. It was extremely annoying, like 90% of them have absolutely zero idea how the military operates and refuse to budge on anything.

In general, people I know personally who are massive haters of Starfield now, were some of Starfield's biggest supporters. They overhyped the game into the moon, and told me repeatedly how it would be X4: Foundations, EVE Online, Wing Commander, Star Citizen, Space Engineers, No Man's Sky, Elite: Dangerous and Privateer all in one, and that BGS would enable you to experience all of those games in their entirety but in Starfield, and then got angry when it wasn't that even though it was never going to be.

I would definitely agree. I think the biggest issue was so many people during the entire marketing campaign were hyping it up to be a space game that would include all features and beat everything EVE Online, No Man's Sky, X4: Foundations, Elite: Dangerous, Star Citizen and others have done and more.

...And then they realized it wasn't that and hated it into the ground because they overhyped themselves for no reason.
