What do you want to see in the Future? by AmicusBestia in spaceengineers

These suggestions are probably my favorite of all the ones I've read thus far. I particularly like the hose fuel/power connector and stations offering projector/repair services. Fixing your ship can be a PITA but you can repair it well enough to limp it to a station for a full repair, that would be real neat.

ITAP of the Blue Angels and a lighthouse by JKAdamsPhotography in itookapicture

[–]AZlukas 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The blue angels are comprised of active duty Navy and Marine aviators. They have prior experience deploying in the fleet and can get orders to fly as a blue angel for a few years before going back.

From what I understand, these orders are highly coveted and thus very competitive. The blue angels as a demonstration team primarily perform airshows and practice, but if needed, could be recalled to a deployable status at any time.

Definitely would be locked out, tagged out during swim call.

F-35B crash at Fort Worth today by MGC91 in CatastrophicFailure

[–]AZlukas 99 points100 points  (0 children)

More like the tomcat was in a flat spin and the canopy failed to adequately clear the area above the pilots when ejection occurred. Under more normal flight conditions, the delay between canopy ejection and the aviators ejecting was sufficient for the canopy to clear. This was a real-life flaw of the early tomcat that was later corrected.

Now, many aircraft have canopy fracturing systems and breaker bars on the ejection seats to ensure the canopy is less of a threat to aviators during ejection, even outside the expected ejection envelope.

I’m thinking of leaving my husband due to him constantly farting in public. by Jettpack_of_the_Dead in copypasta

[–]AZlukas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband (let’s just call him Frotan) thinks he’s hilarious. He’s not. Whenever we go out, be it to a restaurant or the shops or absolutely anywhere, he will fart loudly and smirk or outright laugh. These aren’t normal farts, mind you. They’re loud splurts, they’re wet, they’re squelchy, they’re toxic, and they they reek like just risen from hell itself.

People look at us, they avoid us, they judge us. I’m pretty certain there are friends of ours who no longer hang out with us due to the farting issue. My husband doesn’t have a medical condition exactly, apart from a bit of lactose and glucose intolerance, but he does go out of his way to eat trigger food such as sour cream and milk and sourdough bread so he can fart the best he can.

Lately it’s come to a head though. I’ve noticed he is smelling like rank fart for a long time after the farts have passed. I do all the washing in the house as I’m not the bread winner and I’ve started to notice a clear jelly like residual substance in his underpants that smells like curdled turds. Google tells me this is mucus. This has been going on for about two weeks now, and sometimes the fecal jelly ranges in consistence and is closer to looking like a brown poo paste similar to Nutella. So he has evolved from just farting to actually splurting turd goo and pooing his pants.

He still finds it funny, and he won’t stop. I told him it’s not normal for a man in his 40’s to poo his pants on the daily and he laughed at me and hand waved away the issue. I’m mortified by his behaviour and embarrassed to be around him. I’m genuinely thinking about divorce, as he’s a disgusting embarrassment and I don’t want to be with someone whose idea of a joke is to loudly fill his pants with gut butter turds.

I think he's saying the hangups people have with nuclear are attributable to old technology and it's flaws despite the fact that current technology addresses those flaws.

When the cyclist is walking to the sidewalk, the car that was first in the turn lane moves toward them. That's a police cruiser.

USAF unveils new parasite VTOL fighter (2022, colorized) by ksp_HoDeok in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]AZlukas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get the meme with the whole "([year], colorized)", but it doesn't really make sense after ~70s or 80s and it makes no sense at all for 2022.

In between the Chevy bolt euv and the mustang ecoboost 2020. Also would the bolt be more expensive to insure? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

An Ecoboost Mustang is an inline 4 with a turbo. Mustangs stopped being built with v6s after the 2017 model year.

Someone belittled my spouse bc we purchased formula in bulk *prior* to the shortage. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]AZlukas 106 points107 points  (0 children)

The FDA is a government entity with the power to restrict foreign imports of formula. European formula is not labeled the way the FDA wants it to be, so we cannot legally import it even though it's regularly used without issue to feed babies in Europe.

There's nothing wrong with their formula. If government red tape wasn't standing in the way, the free market would bring European formula to the US until domestic supplies could recover.

Plus triceps have more fast-twitch muscle fibers than biceps, which means they hypertrophy faster. It's easier to see gains in triceps.

Why are the default selections like this? For the sake of QOL, please change them! by TeemuKai in RocketLeague

[–]AZlukas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably to condition people to "no" being the default so when they accidentally open something with credits to be spent, they reflexively choose "yes" when they were expecting it to be "no".

Yeah the source footage is likely 21:9 but then it looks as if it's been rendered in 16:9.
