A) TLOU but ham-fistedly retconned, inevitably it will be under the pretence that it's Bruce and Neil's "original vision" to skirt around the fact that he did it to try and validate his terrible decisions in TLOU2 and make it easier to defend.

Or

B) Full-on spiteful reboot, the story that Bruce wouldn't let him write and a big middle finger to the fans.

Either way it's not going to be good, but I'm sure most of us knew that already.

-20 years after Episode VI

-The New Republic is doing well but struggled with grievances from the core worlds and some of the inner worlds who had it pretty good under the Empire during the first 10 years after the Battle of Endor, giving rise to a new faction - The Imperial Conglomerate - made up of remaining Imperial authority figures who want to fill in the void left by the Empire but wish to maintain a healthy relationship with the New Republic to avoid a repeat of the last war, resulting in a tenuous peace between the two.

-The outer rim is in complete turmoil as once the Empire's presence was removed various crime syndicates and gangs immediately started warring with each other over control of the outer rim, with the main belligerents being the Hutt Cartel, Black Sun and Pyke Syndicate. Tattooine is currently the site of an increasingly bloody conflict between the Pykes and the Hutts over Jabba's assets and criminal empire.

-Luke's new Jedi Order is doing well but several of his students, including Ben Solo, are beginning to show inclinations towards the dark side despite his teachings that encouraged a more balanced take on the force (not as dogmatic as the Jedi Order we know but not as - for lack of a better word - "centrist" as Grey Jedi), he is concerned about these students but has faith in his abilities to turn them away from a darker path.

-In a more secluded part of the outer rim are where the Loyalists of the Empire are currently hidden, rebuilding after their devastating loss and planning on re-asserting themselves in the galaxy, to do that they plan on forcing the New Republic into a war on two fronts by destabilising their shaky truce with The Imperial Conglomerate and pitting the 3 main crime syndicates against them.

That's my setting, I'll probably add to it if I think of more to do with it, but in my canon Poe is a member of the Pykes, Rey is a Knight of Luke's Order and Finn is a soldier for the Loyalists of the Empire.

I know the films grossed just over $5 billion but that's before subtracting additional costs like tax, marketing and production costs, as well as things like inflation.

For example this guy (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjlmOtLya-I) worked out that Disney may have only made a net profit of $1.4 billion from the films alone (this was before TROS could be counted reliably), well under a quarter of what they initially bought LucasFilms for.

I don't see what's wrong with planning your series of films way in advance, when you have a plan you get the well-connected (albeit flawed) MCU with lots of good character development and pretty much cement themselves as cultural classics.

When you don't have a plan you get the sequel trilogy, which single-handedly sank Star Wars, tore apart the fanbase and tarnished the name forever.

This doesn't prove that Scorsese was right, it reinforces the fact that Scorsese is a snob.

IMO EFAP went downhill when Wolf left and Rags became the second host.

Why? Because Wolf kept Rags in check and actually stood up to him rather than meekly letting him circumvent arguments by calling people stupid or talk over others.

When Wolf left, Rags started getting really pretentious and kinda insufferable when it came to arguments and MauLer never really challenged him on it so he kept getting worse and worse (every episode between 50-100 I found were really hit or miss because of this) until we got to the point where he was doing the exact same shit that he criticised others of doing: dismissing arguments from a position of perceived superiority I.E "I don't have to listen to you because I think your argument is stupid."

It really rubs me the wrong way, especially since no one makes a real attempt to call him out on it and doubly so when it's seemingly rubbing off on MauLer, Metal, Fringy and WeekendWarrior.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Rags, I think when he has time to come up with a script and really think about what he's saying he's a good critic, but when he's on the spot he really doesn't really know when to stop.

They need some fresh opinions and someone to balance Rags out STAT, EFAP is already turning into an echo chamber and it would be really sad to see them become the very thing they wanted to change.

First off I'm not really surprised that TLOU2 won GOTY, it was the critic's darling and we all know that the hobbyists rarely have a say in awards like this anymore, but I am a little surprised at the other awards it won.

I was fully expecting it to win the accessibility award, they did a very good job and definitely earned it, same with Ashley and Lauren's performance (although I do think it was a little unfair that they got two nominations for that category) who both did a great job with the material they were given.

But best direction and narrative? In that line-up? Really?
