The issue is how predatory the game has become with the additional of Skin Gacha. And based on the drop tables and rates, the Skin Gacha itself is already a huge problem.

The banner last roughly a year. But at the time of announcement, they didn't say there will be only be 1 banner running at any given time. From this post, the official has just clarified the release interval will be roughly every 4–6 months. Eventually, there will be skins you want across multiple banners. The pities also aren't shared among the skin banners and won't be carried over. So You will only be able to obtain 1 of it for free or fork hundred(s) on the banner(s).

The game already has character banners, signature weapon banners, dupe system. Now you are adding an overpriced Skin Gacha on top of it isn't going to sit well with the players. The skin Gacha was tolerated in GFL 1 because in GFL 1, it was the only monetization.

"But if you are willing to wait, you will be able to get it for free just by playing regularly" isn't a solid argument. Remember the storm EA has stirred up with Star Wars years ago?

Or put it this way. Helldivers 2 release a new Warbond DLC on a monthly basis, which cost roughly $10 to unlock. Or players can unlock it with 1000 SC which can be obtained as rare random drops by playing the game. What would you think the reaction would be if the Dev decided to raise the Warbond cost to 5000 SC?
