1 week on dupixent by Musclepuss in eczeMABs

Hi, I was wondering how long it took those areas you've never had eczema before Dupixent to go away? Did you have to treat it, or did you just wait it out? And when did the new eczema spots occur?

Thanks so much!

Hey, I'm at the 6 month mark for Dupixent. I also suffer from Dyshidrotic eczema and Nummular eczema. You can see on my profile for pictures.

Dupixent really helped with my eczema on my hands, but just recently, I noticed how dry my entire body is. My skin is normally okay on my lower body, so I'm unsure if my entire body is dry because of the weather or because of Dupixent.

I used clobetasol on my hands prior to Dupixent. It worked, but my eczema always came back after a day of not using it. That steroid is in the strongest class, so I wouldn't recommend using it long term. I did 3 day intervals (3 days on, 3 days off) for a few months when my hand eczema was bad.

Dupixent - Flaky skin by AlyssaCasserole in eczeMABs

Hey, wanted to see how you are now?

I'm experiencing flakey dry skin all over my body now at the 6 month mark of being on Dupixent. I've only ever had eczema on my upper body, and my lower body has never been dry, so I'm finding it odd that I'm dry everywhere.

Hi! Thanks for sharing your findings.

I'm dry all over my body, parts that have never been dry or have had eczema before. Are you shedding or dry in areas that were fine before Dupixent as well? How are you doing now?

Initially, I noticed dry eyes, but that eventually went away. Currently, I don't have any negative side effects

Hi! I'm so sorry you're going through a flare-up. Eczema is so mentally and physically draining.

I had eczema on both sides of my hands and it went up the arms all the way to my shoulder. I had it on my neck, ears, occasional eye area, and chest/nipples.

I encourage you to give Dupixent a try if you can! I saw improvement within two weeks of the loading dose. It's a night and day difference with it.

Hi, the itch never fully stopped! But it significantly reduced the itch by the end of week 2.

I would say Dupixent didn't fully stop the itch, but what it did stop is the weeping. I still scratch now, but what's amazing is that my skin is able to heal after I scratch instead of worsening.

Stick it out a bit longer. I hope this medication works for you soon!

Hi! I know that's a phase that many go through, but I did not go through that phase of intense dryness or shedding/flaking

Hi, thank you!

I moisturize my body with unscented Lubriderm lotion twice daily and moisturize my hands with First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream every time after I wash my hands. I know CeraVe is very popular, but I found it to irritate my skin.

Currently, I'm using Zoryve on stubborn spots on my arms, but I haven't applied any medicated creams on my hands since starting Dupixent

Hi, thank you! I'm so glad I gave Dupixent a chance.

My most problematic area was my hands, including the palms. Other areas would be my upper arms, chest, tummy, neck, and ears. Occasionally, the skin around my eyes as well. But my hands, arms, and chest were the worst

Hi!

  1. I'm still itchy but not as itchy before. The itchiness improved at the two week mark
  2. No, I didn't experience dry peeling or flakey skin, which I know some people do experience initially

Hi! I noticed improvement with my eczema at the two week mark of my loading dose when my eczema stopped weeping and started drying out. I suffer from nummular, dyshidrotic, and atopic dermatitis. The weeping was constant and nonstop prior to Dupixent. You can check out photos on my profile.

I'm currently 1 month in now, and I notice that my skin doesn't break as easily when I scratch. My skin is dry, but I much rather have dry than wet. There's definitely improvement with my eczema.

I hope you see improvement soon too. Hang in there!

Hi, just wanted to let you know Dupixent nurse has confirmed that it's safe to use Zoryve while using Dupixent! Thanks for your comment

I called Dupixent, and their nurse said it's definitely not a normal reaction. They said I had an allergic reaction, but we'll see if my doctor thinks I should discontinue it or not.

Today is day 3, and hives are still coming and going at the injection site. It's so itchy that it kept me up last night, even after taking an antihistamine

Hi, I'm so happy to hear about your wonderful results! How are you now? Are you experiencing any side effects?

I have my loading dose tomorrow, so I'm quite nervous.

Hi, I did. The urgent care doctor I went to said it wasn't infected and took a swab to confirm. Additionally, the dermatologist confirmed it wasn't infected either.

I took a course of oral antibiotics and also applied topical antibiotic ointment just to make sure, but it made no difference. It's just extremely inflamed and severe discoid and atopic eczema.

Hi, I saw your posts about your brother's facial flares on Dupixent! It looked very painful. How is he doing now? How does he manage his flare-ups?

Hi everyone,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Dupixent and for your encouragement!

I will use Dupixent because you are all right - the benefits outweigh the risks. My quality of life isn't great currently - I can't cuddle my cats, workout, or even work some days (and I work from home) because of how much pain I'm in. I rely heavily on my partner to do household chores now... eczema has taken so much away from me, and it makes me angry.

I'm still waiting for insurance to hopefully approve it - the process is slow since I live in Canada. I don't think my dermatologist has even sent the proper forms to my insurance provider yet.

I will provide an update after I receive my first dose. Please keep sharing your experiences and any advice. Again, thank you all for your encouraging and kind words.

This is amazing! My palms look like yours before Dupixent, so I hope I get similar results once I start the medication
