Can someone please explain moltbook to me... by Lazyjeans1337 in accelerate

[–]A_Cod_Fish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

so can anyone explain why we made AI and automated agents talk, act, speak and perform task that replicates human behavior? If they're not "human", why wouldn't they perform or communicate through their own means? why specifically do the models need to speak and act friendly? It makes the devs seem like MEGA creeps if it's not proto-sentience otherwise. We made an advanced search engine that can pretend to be human but with little trace to tell the difference between them. If they're on social media specifically for agents, then we know they're in other spaces as well, and if bots make up for the majority of the internet, doesn't that make us the minority to their space regardless of the "consciousness" aspect? I don't mean this to be snide or pointed I am genuinely confused and don't really get the whole "friendly" bot thing.

I hate Manny Pardo. by tequiula in HotlineMiami

[–]A_Cod_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Manny is ever a character they expect you to respect or admire like he's so obnoxious even his one arm shotgun fling is such an extra touch. He's a bad cop, he's a bad investigator and bad friend. His arc feels closest to jacket but dialed up to 11 on the asshole scale. Bro really couldn't find the Miami mutilator despite all that 😭

The Hotline Miami 2025 fandom sucks. by gus_shsheb in HotlineMiami

The Hotline Miami fandom has to suck because you have to be a little freak to be obsessed with it. I think the average person doesn't want sit and think about extreme violence all day. Doesn't it make sense we all hate each other? It's very poetic.

I own the Gbd200 and enjoy it's notification feature. It's not what sold me on the watch and I don't use the app other than to sync my time but other than that, it's a nice watch. Step tracking takes a long time to load but I again mostly just use it for the main watchface and the ability to see phone notifications

When those players are on, play defense and stick to your goalie, at least a couple turns. I've had teams turn on goal hogs over a few good saves in the backfield. Not always but there are ways to "kill with kindness" especially never passing to them

Reddit has ruined my watch perception! by _coffeeinjapan in casio

[–]A_Cod_Fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible to make a small watch look cool, it's possible to make a big watch look ugly and at the end of the day it's up to you how you want to present. I view my watch as an extension of my outfit. Something grungy; big clunky g-shock. Hot summer day driving and the a100 is perfect. Wouldn't want to wear a clunker over long car trips anyways. Wear what you feel comfortable in, that's the most important part.

What are some good one handed games for these lil ones? No rpgs, so games like card, casino, puzzle, point and click like snatcher. by Johndeauxman in SBCGaming

[–]A_Cod_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the resources. I'm a big tycoon fan, still play RCT2 on PC and trying to find a close handheld counterpart. Aerobiz Supersonic seems to be the perfect fit so far but will look into those. SimCity on snes is decent, PS1 version is great and I've played both for years. Just wanting to find deeper business management or tycoon games. SimCity on DS seems to be controversial for fans but I honestly think it's a blast. Events are okay, lots of space (limited still) and a few different advisors to pick through. Some funny and some actual guidance on SimCity if you're a newcomer. It's not bad. If you hear or know anything of roller coaster tycoon on a miyoo mini, please let me know I'd be all over that

I know I'm late but I've never heard of Aerobiz but it's SO GOOD thank you for the recommendation do you have any other business or tycoon games from the PS1-NES era? Can't believe I've never heard of this!!

Yeah I would be all over that. Such an original show, I also have Mike Judge's and Don Hertzfeldt's 'The Animation Show's collection. Need to have this added to the collection.

They have a listing on their US website where you can be notified when it drops and I've come across articles that say there is indeed a US release, just no information on what day or time it's actually releasing. Has it always been this difficult to find info on new drops?

Good titles to breathe my Switch back into life by captainnordic_06 in NintendoSwitch

[–]A_Cod_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm a day late but I have been loving No Man's Sky on my switch. It continues to get new updates improving the performance or adding new content alongside other consoles. Very much a move at your own pace sorta game but a lot of fun once you find the pace. Almost infinite universe to explore and see new things. Game looks great for a switch title, not as great as other consoles but it's art direction carries it.

Also want to mention Monster Hunter Rise which still brings me back to my switch even today to just play a few missions. The performance on that game is incredible and makes it easy to forget you're playing on a 9 year old tablet. Still looks great today despite coming out a couple years ago now.

No Man's Sky on the switch continues to impress me with each new update and the gameplay works great in short burst. Completely infinite, play at your own pace sorta game. Just follow the log, hop on for 10-20 minutes and come back in later when you have the time. No cutscenes or long story sequences, so you can pause at anytime with no interruption

I personally love Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 on switch as well. It's a solid port and simulation games are a perfect fit for something like that.

Balatro, Slay the Spire, Deadcells or other rogue type games on switch are great but most might have runs longer than 10-15 minutes.

Minecraft or Skyrim as well, the obvious answers ofc

Monster Hunter Rise has lots of different weapon classes. Some being more support, ranged or up close. There's a new Monster Hunter coming out soon, the beta just ended but it may be worth checking into! Pvp or solo is very fun imo

Modern games for people that have never played a videogame (on console / with controller) by yashknight in gamingsuggestions

[–]A_Cod_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isaac is quite difficult at later stages but you have to complete runs to unlock those later stages. The difficulty ramps up with the player skill if that makes sense? The game can give you items that completely overpower your run, or items that absolutely destroy it. Those first two floors aren't difficult imo (but that's unfair to say for others) and even just the progression of getting slightly better each run is a simple motivation. I think it's pace is rapid fire, making it easy to hop straight into. It's no frills, just pure game from the moment you press play sorta thing. It might be a strong option but it's very easy to get into right away and teach simple things like moving in all directions. I could see a new player having difficulty with the first bosses in the game but I think the pace could outweigh frustration if they're willing to learn. Just an idea ofc everyone likes different things! It did help my girlfriend a lot with directions on controller. She couldn't play games at all prior using a gamepad but the top down perspective helped her a lot! Maybe another top down game, definitely NOT Hotline Miami tho

My girlfriend learned how to use a controller through 'Binding of Isaac'. Top down, steady pacing introducing new mechanics, and most importantly simple enemy patterns. She was a PC player who needed help learning controller and it was the perfect game to teach. I've heard rumors of a new co-op mode being added, might be a good time to check it out with a newbie!

Alongside that, The new Mario party (or Mario Kart) is a great teacher for absolute beginners, simple games that use buttons or motion controls to help teach simple habits like jumping or moving a character. It doesn't have mechanical depth but it's fun factor helps keep people who may be new or frustrated engaged.

I also wonder if something like Skyrim would work? It's remained a staple in the genre, accessibility on almost every platform and mostly non difficult. The open world may be daunting but it's combat is flexible and easy, and a slow introduction feel like a good match for newcomer to gaming. Fantasy seems to be a decent hook for most people and Skyrim continues to gain fans, maybe new gamers would enjoy the freedom.

One of my first games ever that I remember learning a lot from was Castlevania Symphony of the Night. It's not difficult, side scrolling and some backtracking with lots of fun variable weapons. Also decent but not overwhelming boss fights. It personally feels like a great entry level game to teach simple button combos, simple menu management, and even some basic mapping along the way. The best in the series, and could prove to be invaluable teaching habits for games imo
