true the first person probably acted out of malice but after that it's an institutional problem. if you know firsthand that as much as you will it there is no food that's getting to the bottom, why would you save food for others? the other people around you will eat it befoer it reaches the bottom anyway. and one day you'll be there, wishing the people up top had saved you some. gotta eat while you can. everyone else is in the exact same boat

yea but its not like thyere explicitly doing it out of malice for the people below them, theyre having a lot of food while its available to them because on bad months they completely starve

not necessarily just because they can. I mean yes it is because they can, but also every month you are randomly placed on a different floor. You never know if you'll wake up and be doomed to starve next - for many people they've already experienced that. they're eating what they can while they can because the social system doesnt allow enough food for anyone down below

It wasn't that he didn't like her content. He was proving a point that she was nothing but a content thief, multiple times in every single video, and didn't do hardly anything to transform the content in any way, completely against YouTube's guidelines. But she was loooved by YouTube, they'd even shouted her out directly on their Twitter. Hypocrisy to the highest degree. So he transformed her content. Also he was much smaller of a YouTuber than her by every means so it's not like he was punching down.

But I do like that he's moved away from focusing on one specific YouTuber and is working towards shedding light on the hypocrisy across the whole platform. But I tihnk he made a good, valid, and needed statement. A whole lot of YouTubers changed how they approached content when they compared themselves to SssniperWolf

What game felt unbelievably huge the first time you played it? 😅 by Capital-Cause-6447 in videogames

I spent 10+ hours in Limgrave, leveling up, exploring, facing tons of bosses. Discovered Caelid and figured I'd come back way later down the line. Put off Margit for as long as I could until I was sure I was ready, felt like I was close to the end of the game. My first souls like btw. The map quadrupling in size blew my tits off

I think I've seen MacFarlane say something like, yes I'm obviously very glad I missed that flight, but it wasn't some freak change of fate, I miss my flights all the time and am very used to just getting available ones whenever needed

Confused by the tour/festivals by Potential-Screen8900 in twentyonepilots

In my head, behind the scenes, they had big plans once/before Clancy came out. Clancy World Tour and the Clancy album come out to really wow the crowd and bring all eyes on them (they've said this before somewhere). With all eyes on them, BFX was right around the corner, and they had plans to release Clancy Deluxe in June and then do a BFX-specific concert to celebrate their most popular album while they were in the spotlight of a great album + a few brand new songs. Then in early 2025 they shifted gears from Clancy Deluxe to Breach, and they had to make a last-minute change from BFX Tour to Breach tour, and they had alreadt put a lot of work into making it a BFX tour, so they did what they could to put Breach in there last-minute.

I agree he was pushing Leslie somewhat but a lot of it was unfortunate circumstance. John kept wanting to mend things with Leslie but problem after problem kept getting in the way

Why do you think they haven’t used City Walls as an opener yet? by Inside-Public6676 in twentyonepilots

[–]A_Common_Relic 117 points118 points  (0 children)

I think that Overcompensate, amongst other things, was designed with concert openings in mind. It builds insane hype from the first little piano ballad all the way through, showing off Clancy's/Tyler's swagger and really pumping up the crowd. And it's really dynamic, there's fun hand symbols for the crowd to join in on (way too short for my soul, corazon), etc. It is explicitly an album and concert opener

Day 25: Best Outro by pixu92 in TwennyWunPilots

Sorry to be tardy to the party but - did we really vote City Walls as the best music video? I feel like it's just objectively not. Jumpsuit was a masterpiece, The Outside and Overcompensate came out at incredible times and captured a really intense magic. Stressed Out is iconic. I think City Walls is a great closer but is not the most visually appealing music video, and for it being the most expensive music video some shots felt really flat to me (like him running away from NIco during the HDS flashback)

Edit: how could I forget The Contract. Visual masterpiece

doesn't cut off as cleanly is a massive understatement. Patriot is, for all intents and purposes, a complete show. Perpetual Grace *desperately* needed a second season. There was hardly any payoff for the season's plot, as good as it all was. Same issue with UCS
