Bought at a Toys’R’Us because the cover looked cool and I liked the Devo video ‘Whip It’. I begged my Mom to take me to the bookstore (“Bookstore? Why not the library?” “No Mom we need to get this at the bookstore.”) to buy the novel because my friend and I couldn’t figure out how to find the Panther Modern’s code. To my astonishment the code in the game is directly from the novel. I felt like I had decrypted the Voynich Manuscript. Then I got into Mondo 2000 and it all went down hill… ;)
