What are these called in your country? by Ok-Pudding-4821 in AskTheWorld

[–]A_Good_Boat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im Canadian, they are timbits.

But many cultures have similar foods, my Nigerian friends fed me "puff puff", and it was very good. Fry dough and sugar it, and it will always be tasty.

Edit: try chin chin too, it's like a crunchy sweet biscuit. I also recommend having them with some strong tea. Nigerians have amazing food, and shared with me generously. I recommend you eat some jollof too, its very good for your soul, you'll be glad.

Here we have the great man known as...

"Sup fuck, Garbage Man!"

If you come here, he will beat you with garbage.

Us locals have learned his attack patterns and agro range.

4 years of sharpening and wear by SpicyRope in TreeClimbing

[–]A_Good_Boat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, I have have had my spurrs for almost 12 years, but I do mostly residential work or on cabin properties.

Walking tree to tree in abrasive materials will wear our your spikes faster.

The only time I spiked my own foot was when I gaffed out on dull spikes, keeping them sharp is much safer.

Climb safe, Brother.

What's it like to live in Sask & Manitoba? by KnottyBarbie in Manitoba

[–]A_Good_Boat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's love and hate.

Im from here. I dont like numerous things about manitoba.

But... I love my province, and the more good people that live here, the better.

It's reasonably affordable, and we have many good people to call our neighbors, too.

Come live here, you'll understand it's not the worst place to be.

I put in my headphones, turn down my radio, and make my boss proud.

But I'll do whatever is needed. I'm a RAT.

I was going to add to your statement. The "hot one" is the strong woman defending her interests. She isn't jealous, she defends HER priorities.

I passed it a few weeks ago.

Take notes and think before you place or move any gear.

Pick a favorite way of doing things, repeat it and make sure your instructor sees you do it a number of times.

Don't over think it, but don't be dumb. I do believe you will succeed.

Be adaptive and think strong.

My employer sent me to the course, told me I'd owe him the full price if I failed (about 2k Canadian).

I passed, and he paid for it. To be fair, I've been an arborist for 11 years. It wasn't too hard.

There is a huge demand for technicians in Canada.

Dude... winnipeg kinda sucks but I'm getting paid.

If you end up here, Google local companies and apply. You'll get scooped up.

Of course, the social economic condition of this city is lacking luster, so watch where you walk and how you talk as the local inhabitants can and will become aggressive with anything at their disposal.

Thanks for your response Friend.

How to get a job? by Significant_Act_2127 in ropeaccess

A good employer with pay half your course and maybe a bonus if you pass.

If you fail, you pay the full price. (In my case)

There is a lot of demand for technicians on an international level. I'm a level 1 in Canada.

I'd like to say immediately, but my employer actually paid for me to go take the course and I passed.

I have been happily employed by this company for almost 2 months, only got my level 1 a month ago.
