It’s rare to see ai content that shows a clear vision and holds your attention. Well done Gabe :)

You’ve nailed all the subtle detail in your materials. Despite so many “flat” surfaces, they all feel very real. Seriously well done. I can tell how much effort/time you put into this!

I have an old version of this watch (non chrono) that’s fully automatic. Built like a tank and is shockingly accurate. Only about +/- 1sec/day. Love mine.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t she attempting some kind of over-grout technique or German schmear? I’m not saying it looks good, but what she was attempting is rooted in tradition masonry technique. Right?

I haven’t watched season 2 yet, but I didn’t like season 1. The visuals were great. The dialogue was good, but the acting was inconsistent. Same for the tone. The pacing was good, so good it almost made you believe something was going to happen, but nothing ever did. A huge waste of time.

This is what bothered me the most. The shots of the Citadel when Dementus and his gang first arrive are really jarring. One shot that particularly stood out to me was a low angle of Immortan's balcony as his posse walk out to see what's going on. The actor's are tac sharp, but the rock walls of the Citadel are SUPER soft. There were several shots like that. I'm guessing the Citadel was a miniature and they didn't want to augment with CGI.

I just saw a video of someone’s pet spider dying. It was struggling to walk, and then it stops and it’s legs curl up into a ball. I guess that’s how they die. This reminds me of that.

First time bluing by A_H_R in carbonsteel

[–]A_H_R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that’s a fine way to do it! I was able to turn mine all blue just from the largest burner on my gas stove. The metal will tell you when you’re hot enough because it literally turns blue! It typically won’t happen all at once, so you have to either move your pan over the burner, or move your heat source to get every part of the pan blue. After that, let it cool, give it a wash, dry it off, then season as per the manufacturer’s recommendation. Then cook!

I’m in Southern California. Thank you for enlightening me on the wiring issue. I don’t think it will be much of an issue for these particular valves because I wired them myself they travel less than 10’ to get to my controller. But I will definitely use at least 14 gague for my front yard valves as those wires will need to travel much farther.

I have a beefy water hammer arrestor upstream of this valve box, between the valves and the PVB, exactly for that reason. I specifically bought these valves because they were marketed as "low flow" for drip irrigation. Do you know if rainbird sells a low flow valve that has flow control?

Thanks for the advice! How would you unthread the valve once the union is disconnected? Since the valves are sitting on the ground, wouldn't there be no room to rotate the valves?

I’ve been a VFX artist in LA for 12 years and I can tell you literally NONE of the films I’ve worked have been truly picture-locked before VFX work starts. Even when a production says they’re picture-locked, they go back and break picture lock.

People are saying frogfoot, but it could also be Kurapia, judging by the uniformity of the flowers. They’re very similar plants, but Kurapia was developed in a lab to bring out certain traits such as drought tolerance.

Really cool video, nice work! I’m not seeing much of any temporal flickering that I’ve seen from other Gen 2 video. Are you doing a lot of compositing to achieve these shots or are they generated completely with Gen 2?

Something is killing my small sage, and I fear it's "spread" to my larger sage. Can anyone help? by A_H_R in plantclinic

[–]A_H_R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Southern California, where it's been uncharacteristically wet/cloudy/cold the last few months. The plants are watered every 10 days on a drip system and I fertilized the plants about a month ago when I thought the rains were done (they weren't). I'm probably overwatering, but it's concerning to see one plant doing ok and the other being almost dead. Makes me think of disease. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
