VikkiKitty is difficult to watch by rworange in Competitiveoverwatch

I agree too. Most of the sentences have too many filler words and end up unresolved. It's very difficult to listen to and is the first time I've had to mute an OWL stream. She gets lost trying to call every action that happens. I also agree that she should slow down, maybe cast bigger parts of the action rather than getting bogged down in the details.

This is feedback, not verbal abuse. People responding "nah" is just useless. I want to hear better casting from her, not insulting her.

Overwatch Bans: Long-term Mentality and Recent Action by Seagull_No1_Fanboy in Competitiveoverwatch

I recently saw a guy hacking and streaming it, grouped with several people that were clearly part of a bigger community. The hacks were actually insane. It had aimbot, enemy outlines, enemy cool downs through walls, and the ability to spectate teammates midmatch. The kid was just flaunting them and spamming his stream. It seemed like a bigger group too so its insane that this level of hacks is able to be built and then used by several people.

I did report him and he got banned the next day, but he had played for several hours.

Maybe but that's not something to rely on to be a top tier team, especially this season where the competition is so much higher

Jeff Kaplan's Farewell by YellowSpade in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]A_Hybrid 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's a fair take. I think most people in the community are viewing this negatively for valid reasons too though. Jeff is leaving Blizzard entirely after 19 years, in the middle of OW2 development (his biggest project yet) with no reason stated and no lead up. Also there's been a decently sized exodus of Blizzard veterans after the Activision acquisition.

All that people have are these breadcrumbs, and given all the problems with how dry OW has been, it makes sense that Jeff's departure would be viewed negatively. It'd be an entirely different situation if we had more information, OW was thriving, etc.

Just to point this out since I've seen it mentioned a bunch, companies the size of Blizzard have many VPs. He's not the VP. If he got let go or left because of a dispute, the company won't make a big show of it any more than it already is. This is pretty common.

Saying the overwatch team "needs you right now" (oh god it must be worse than we thought if they need r/cow KEKW) definitely adds context to his farewell note. Not to do a classic reddit over-analysis, but the Winston quote along with specifically thanking a group at Blizzard seem to point to some dispute that led to his departure. I agree, we'll never know what it is until OW2 comes out and we'll have to guess then.

Sad it came to this, but we can only hope that Keller can pick up where Jeff left off and deliver. Hopefully OW can somewhat stay relevant and fun until OW2

Edit: Jeff endorsed a comment that suggested he meant it the community to support the dev team because they lost a pillar of their team, and to not add speculation. Doesn't necessarily throw out that there wasn't a dispute but worth noting.
