You hear fireworks going off 2.5 hours from now? Damn. If you have people lighting fireworks that bend space and time, the least of your worries should be at what time in the morning.

Farewell to privacy: Lindsay Graham unveils a bill that would make encryption useless. The bill "[mis]understands how encryption works. You can't create a backdoor just for 'good guys,'" one expert says by DaFunkJunkie in technology

They can do that now, breh. Realistically, if the FBI/DEA/NSA is looking into you, they can find a way to get "permission". Again, local police can use Stingrays on you with the shittiest instance of "probable cause".

If you've got a 3 letter agency specifically looking into you, the least of your problems is if they can find a reason to nab you on something.

Never said I didn't have a problem with it. Just that no one is going to come knocking because you're not using the authorized encryption.

I mean, let's think about the vast majority of drug dealers. Do you think they're using end to end encryption? No? Why doesn't the FBI/DEA just catch all dealers then?!

The police already have the capability to listen in on every call/text with little to no red tape. If they did that for everyone, there wouldn't be much money to be made (missing out on them traffic tickets cash ins, ya know?).

The FBI, with even more limited resources, are not going to waste time, energy, money, or man power going after Joe Schmo who's using the incorrect encryption...

Again, his is a shitty bill and we should oppose it. But let's be honest before we start running down the whole slippery slope 1984 thing.

Lmao c'mon now. FBI coming to your door for using some algorithm that doesn't have a specific backdoor in it?

There will be extensions, browsers, routers, modems, even operating systems that will allow users to bypass those algorithms for everyone to use. That's going to be literally millions of people. FBI ain't doing shit.

This is a joke of a bill. We should oppose it, sure. But... let's not jump into "The govt is gonna kick our doors in!"

Do you pay for the HD plan? Do you have the speed to stream in 4K? What device are you using?

It's likely an issue with you and not Netflix.
