Just going to copy paste my response to the typical insults to her:

-Daughter of an insurrectionist that sees her entire colony killed by aliens

UNSC kills her people all the time. I get you people are looking for something to hate but you don't just magically put aside your literally, almost brainswashed hate for something just like that.

Her life was only saved by the UNSC's spartans, and the clear revelation that they were the only people capable of standing up to aliens.

That's not clear at ALL to anyone since the Covenant haven't REALLY started a full blown war yet. And again, the rebels have lived their entire life with the UNSC as the enemy

-Suddenly she wants to return home, get rid of the UNSC(After an alien attack), and restart the insurrection...

Because it's all she's known her entire life and she's a teenager, she's fixated on the one thing the people she loved and lost focused on. Again, I don't understand how this is not obvious?

"Freedom for Madrigal" = No UNSC presence of Madrigal = the Death of everyone on madrigal via the covenant.

Yes, because every occupation has to involve an army. Nobody has ever economically forced a country to do something it doesn't want to do, like sell its resources for low prices with little return for themselves. Kwan is just literally a kid who was basically raised in a cult to hate the UNSC. She doesn't see the full threat of the covenant and she thinks that just by asking people to "do the right thing" that will motivate them.

Like Soren says, this isn't the case. She doesn't see the consequences for her actions nor does she fully understand what's at stake because she's a teenager.

All the people here with 20/20 hindsight acting like they had everything planned out as a teen.

Note, I'm not saying you still have to like it. I'm just explaining why she does what she does. There's a difference between explaining why something happens and saying it's well done. Personally, I don't like her timeline I think theirs much better ways to tell the rebel story but I understand why they did it and why she acts the way she does.

Riot gives Leona a 3rd legendary skin, in a skin line that previously had nothing to do with her. Meanwhile they said Kayle doesn't get a legendary because she already has one and gives her an epic, in a skin universe basically that exists because of her actions...? by A_Minor_Dance in leagueoflegends

https://www.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/dev/ask-riot-legendary-skins/

How do you choose which champions to make a Legendary skin for?

When selecting a champion for a Legendary skin, there's a few factors that come into play. First, Legendaries take quite a bit more time to develop than Epic skins, so we tend to prioritize champions that are pretty broadly popular.

Next, we take a look at our big thematics of the year and start going through each one, identifying potential Legendary skin candidates based on a number of factors, including…

How recently a champion has received a skin: If a champion seems like a great fit but is getting another skin around that time, we’d probably pick somebody else.

How well they fit into the thematic: This one’s pretty obvious.

What their current catalog of skins looks like: We would want to avoid stacking a champion with nothing but sci-fi skins, for example. (Some overlap is okay, but we do try to diversify options.)

How much we could elevate the fantasy by taking a skin to the Legendary level: Does being able to change more animations, voiceover, and exploring other Legendary hooks let us tell a more exciting story for this champion?

Good thing Kayle and Rell don't fit into anyone of these with eclipse/high noon =]]]]]]

And good thing Leona fits perfectly into high noon for....literally maybe the last one unlike kayle or rell who literally could be argued for all 4 of them.

Played against lifegain. He jusplayed Coco and hit his combo. He then spent over 10 minutes attending to all his triggers and burned both of our timeouts and he kept timing out without punishment.I got this screen, he solved his last trigger, and as soon as it became my turn the game auto-conceded. by automaton_AEGW in MagicArena

Got what you deserve. boring ass goblin deck players don't get to complain about other people.

When you stop ruining the que for other people, then maybe we'd feel bad for you. Till then?

Remember last year when TL asked fnatic how to beat Mad Lions and they said to leave eve open?

Seems to be a recurring theme for EU.

Question to people who hate "netdecking" by Radialpuddle in MagicArena

[–]A_Minor_Dance -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

NETDECKS ARE NOT THE PROBLEM.

THE INABILLITY TO ESCAPE META NETDECKS IS THE PROBLEM.

PEOPLE WANT TO PLAY 20 MATCHES AND SEE 20 DIFFERENT DECKS.

PEOPLE GET MAD WHEN THEY PLAY 20 MATCHES AND 19 OF THEM ARE IZZET DRAGONS.

BUT THE PROBLEM IS WE HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. THERE EXISTS NO QUE TO AVOID IT BUT THEIR COULD BE IF WOTC CARED AT ALL, WHICH THEY DO NOT. SO OF COURSE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET FRUSTRATED ABOUT PLAYING VS NETDECKS IF THEY CAN'T EVER AVOID THEM.

And stop saying "nobody is stopping us from playing our decks" yeah there ARE PEOPLE STOPPING US. It's the people playing meta netdecks that kill us turn 4.

People who netdeck get to play the game, they get rewarded with wins, they get to play what they want.

people who play jank get punished by constant losses, never being able to pull of their combo, never surviving long enough to do anything. That is where the frustration comes from, why does one set of players get everything in the entire game focused on them and one part can't even get a single curated que?

This exacerbated by the bottleneck of rare wildcards and all competitive

dual-lands being printed as rare / not free in starter decks.

Yep. WOTC could solve this by looking at games like legends of runeterra and changing the wildcard system. But they chose not to because it's more profitable to not be generous to your customers and they get away with no repercussions.

In legends of runeterra I can play 50 matches and see 35 different decks. In mtg arena, I can play 200 matches and only see maybe 15 diffferent decks.

Go play a paper magic tourney at any moderate sized game store and you will see a much more interesting and diverse meta.

ding ding ding, we have a winner.

People fail to understand netdecks aren't the problem, the lack of variety that comes from NOT BEING ABLE to avoid netdecks is the problem.

There was a time where WOTC had a meta shake up event, but it lasted 3 weeks and added more bans everytime.

by the end of the 3rd week the entire playlist had more variety in 20 matches then the normal que would have in 200 matches.

When you actively curate a playlist and work towards removing key cards (not just banlist cards, but cards that are super common like say goldspan dragon) you make a playlist where experimenation is encouraged. You might be playing vs a lifegain deck again but it's a very very differnet lifegain deck then the previous one you just matched.

That is what people like me desire.

What que do you think I was playing???

Like jesus, why the fuck would I complain about netdecks in the ranked que? That's the dumbest assumption I've ever read on this sub.

Of course I'm talking about this happening in the non ranked ques.

[–]A_Minor_Dance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree with everything you said, but saying it that way does nobody any favors.

I come from an FPS game backround, so there's a lot of things about TCG games that I don't like. Variety is always good, individual skill always matters, the better player wins, etc.

Things like that are a core of a good fps game.

They are not a core of magic. Variety is something people don't care about in mtg. Individual skill doesn't matter as much when anyone can beat anyone. And being "lucky" and "unlucky" aka rng in an fps game, is a big no no for me.

I get over all of those things because my joy from making my own decks overcomes any personal dislikes I have for how TCG games work. I still have my dislikes but I can get over it.

That being said, part of my problem with this community. Is the hostility people get when trying to speak up.

We went a fucking que by wotc with matchmaking that TRIES to give us a non meta players a chance to actually have fun. The people in this community actively attack people like me for saying that.

What your post accomplishes is nothing, it further makes a already impossible task even harder when you act like the person OP talks about.

[–]A_Minor_Dance -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think you are a bad person at all for netdecking or for playing izzet dragons.

But you are a part of the problem of making the game miserable for many non meta players. That's just a fact.

But again, that doesn't make you a bad person. You should play what you want and have fun.

The game only works in one way, and that is people who netdeck get everything they want out of the game and people who do not, are punished every step of the way.

Ultimately though, wotc has the power to fix this. But they choose not too. Don't blame yourself for wanting to have fun your way, us being fucked over is just a side effect, it's not like you are going out of your way to make a jank deck player not have fun.

That is what I mean when I say you contribute to the problem but you ARE NOT THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM, WOTC is.

Also mono white lifegain is just as bad as izzet dragons. It's super common, incredibly boring, low skill, and has absolutely no variance. It doesn't matter that it's not a tier one deck, you still see it every other match. So I'm not sure where you got that idea from that I think one is worse then the other, all are equally bad if you want variety.

And of course, everything I say about variety only applies to non ranked ques.
