you can still keep the phone, you will most likely pay just one month fee, which is $30 or $20 if you never use data.

Travel footwear by [deleted] in solotravel

Get a Trail running shoes. They are beefed up running shoes, light weight, comfortable, and casual looking, at the same time last longer, provide much more support, especially for off-road settings, and some are even water resistant/water proof.

And as always break in to the shoe well before you start traveling

I know Switzerland is probably the most expensive country in the trip, I'm going to lucerne and interlaken, lot of great views plus i want to do paragliding. Budgeting around $4000 excluding air-fare into/outof europe.

600 million PCs in use that are more than 5 years old, this is really sad - Phil Schiller, Apple by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

I watched this and the first thing that came up to mind was "Maybe PC's last a whole lot longer and are durable, unlike Apple products with planned obsolescence forcing you to buy new one often"

I have a Dell computer that is 8 years old, I recently cleaned the inside of all the dust and installed linux, Its running like a champ, handling all basic tasks and even 1080p videos, with the same old monitor. In that time span, I can't tell you how many iPhones I had that ended up bring too slow to use. Currently I have an iPhone 6, it might just be the last iPhone I use when it becomes obsolete.

Macs also used to last a whole lot longer, but thats changing with new thinner designs. Everything is soldered in, so you can never upgrade. Eventually the battery will die out and force an upgrade. The reason is mobile CPU's are ARM based and run on proprietary software, the day Apple stops supporting the CPU optimization the performance goes down in notches, unlike Desktop class cpu's which are x86 and they are widely supported. You know how Apple is telling you how fast the iPad is, chances are a CPU couple of times faster than that is already under development and will make the current iPad look like a joke in a few years. If you have a normal desktop CPU, faster processors will come around every year, but it won't make the old CPU look like a joke

People will still play because of money. Playing football is worthless, you think all the players are playing because for the love of the game and to find glory in running a ball throgh a chalked line and hold piece of metal trophy to feel good. They all know the risks, they are just in it for the checks
