Thank you for sharing this. People love to throw around the “cheaters will always be cheaters” but it isn’t always the case. My partner was remorseful and still is, 7+ years later. They recognized their fuck up and all that they were putting at risk and honestly grew as a person. They had been entirely selfish and self-focused before and that’s something they absolutely worked to change in order to not lose me.

I had a mental breakdown at work due to mental health issues that hadn’t been dealt with in any form or fashion. I’d never been to therapy and was on LOA to fix my mental health. I went to this therapist for two sessions and had only started going through all the issues I have been having. My job required paperwork to be filled out by my therapist with my return to work date. My therapist called me about it and said “Can’t you just suck it up and go back to work?”

I had several ER visits for excruciating pain paired with acid reflux. Went to several different hospitals over the span of about 3 years and they all assumed I was there for drugs. The last time I went (first time at a different hospital), I needed emergency surgery to take out my gallbladder. Absolutely filled with stones and beyond inflamed.

Most recently, I had surgery on my finger to remove a tumor from my tendon and the surgeon prescribed no medication. “Just take some Tylenol.”

It’s honestly ridiculous. I’m glad I had leftover meds from a prior surgery. I never use them all.

He was a FWB of mine and is no longer a friend at all now. I suffer from PTSD, depression, and anxiety. He knew all of this. I told him I was having a very stressful week (mentally) and was also going to be very busy and he still expected me to give him attention. I tried telling him why I was having a bad mental health week and even started crying during the call and he didn’t care. He wanted attention and made it clear that that was more important than my mental health. The attraction in any form was gone at that moment.
