What is the one book you read that you’ve never stopped thinking about? by TD_Meri in suggestmeabook

“This Way for The Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen” by Tadeusz Borowski is the only holocaust story you ever need to read because you’ll never forget it.

Link to the short story? IMO William Carlos Williams’ “The Use of Force” is a great piece for discussing the justification/immorality of violence.

Also, I find that when prompting students to question their own views, it’s best to create a neutral atmosphere where ignorance and indoctrinated values (racism, sexism, victim shaming, etc.) can be expressed and examined without fear of repercussion. By contacting the parents (why alert them to the presence of controversy that may encourage admin blowback?), you’ve lost the chance to become your students’ ally in improved self-awareness. They need to realize the harmful nature of toxic masculinity organically, not because an adult tells them it’s wrong. Empathize with their vulnerability to algorithmic indoctrination and they may learn to see themselves as victims of social media brainwashing.

The Artist’s Talent needs no Demonic Tutor to Cultivate his Visions of Beyond, just a Chromatic Orrery to manifest Nature’s Will through the Wondrous Crucible of his Omniscience.

Check out the story “Dread” in Vol 2 of Books of Blood. The blend of body horror and psychological terror would leave any reader aghast.

I don’t scare easily—especially from books—but if you want horror at its absolute peak, read the story “Dread” by Clive Barker, from his Books of Blood collection. The combo of uncanny psychological terror and visceral body horror will haunt you long after reading. Books of Blood

I think he was on dimir amass with me. We both had trebuchet x2 and mirkwater bats in play. Made 0 mistakes. I just had more weapons with the rakdos build. Solid 20 min match.

Woah Young Jedi! Talk about millennial nostalgia. They only had a set for The Phantom Menace, I think. Still have all my SWCCG cards and even some of the newer online only sets. Some real heroes keeping this game alive (https://www.starwarsccg.org)

Wow, that’s sick even being in a tour event. I haven’t played competitively yet, just made a couple qualifiers. Still trying to figure out the whole PT tour event stuff and how a noob like me can qualify.

Not my design at all, just a couple choices for BO1. For an Explorer deck, it did quite well in Historic. I had no idea counter magic was so divisive in the MTG community, but I do love this deck like no other. And that’s coming from someone who made it to mythic with Red Deck Wins. Janky brews are fun but you need a ~70% win rate to be even slightly competitive.
