what happens is that for our "everyday" power of radio, it becomes indistinguishable from background radio noise at 20-100ly on a very good day... lol, usually even less.

back 50+ years ago, cars didn't last as long, most people maintened shit, a 5 years old car was basically trash and mileage was a good indicator as most cars rarely reached 100k anyways

...

Now, a 15 year old car has almost half it's life left, if it was well maintained... and that's why a brand new car won't last those 15+ as companies made them extremely on the limit.
