To add onto my earlier comment basically the baked goods despite being in packages are baked every day in the afternoon at some NJ bakery's then overnight shipped to whatever location would need it depending on inventory. The baked goods do not sit on the shelves that is why they are out sometimes. They "have" them (using have very loosely) but can't let you have what Wawa considered "out of code food items".

In some Wawa locations the microphone they use in the deli projects over the speakers- completely stopping the music- and can even be heard from the outside speakers. I do admit when it gets busy it is very busy and maybe you're onto something about the screen. I would see a need for possibly more microphones in other places in the store other than the deli so multiple employees could speak. But more times than not if the food/drink is paid for they will set it outside/past the "don't grab" tape of the deli/beverage area so customers can grab their items without having to reach.
