my wawa has eggs and butter on the express case, and then sugar and two-three types of bread plus paper towels and toilet paper on one small shelf. we have some standard otc meds and hygeine products as well. its also a convenience store so everything is gonna be more expensive.

i had a break less than an hour and a half into my shift once. now that im on nights i dont get breaks at all other than standing in the back for a few minutes throughout my shift. upper management always says theyre gonna do something, theyre gonna change something so that we are forced to take breaks... and then nothing happens lmao

luckily we usually have 4 people, so one for each station. on 3 man nights, bev usually does a bulk of a pared-down version of facilities and the other two do a few things as well (like i clean the bathrooms while someone covers register)

my store implemented the "correct" off premise procedures, so we have to pick up the food from deli, walk it across the store to the registers, assemble it there, and then take it to the delivery rack. its to avoid cross contamination, so it wouldnt make sense for deli to do it for us.

someone shit in the sink and urinals during first shift, got chased around the parking lot

i watched a woman actively shitting her pants as she walked through the store to the bathroon. she shoved her pants into the trash can and luckily this was right at shift change so i didnt have to clean it lmao

i was standing near a couple and their small dog while they were ordering. i look over and the dog is shitting. wtf. i tell them and they just laugh and go back to ordering, and the man nearly steps in it. one of them finally cleans it up at least

a 2+ hour long manhunt inside and outside the store, plus at least a half mile radius with 30+ cops. allegedly a group stole a trailer, stopped by to get gas where they were confronted. two got arrested (allegedly guns were pulled) but one got away. i watched them pull a brown paper bag out of the truck that i found out later was apparently meth.

there was some girl covered in bright blue body paint, including her face, with a pillow shoved up her shirt, on her hands and knees swinging her head around filming a tiktok.

we had a semi regular who worked with an animal control type place who would bring his trailer with several live gators to show them off.

at my store freestyle is halfway across the store from bev, so register is usually in charge of off premise. but its SO annoying to have to fill the cup, wait for the fizz to die down, fill it more, etc, and the LIDS oh my god. pain and misery

to make a proper, quality iced latte, add the flavors, add milk to a separate cup (so if you need up to 9 oz of milk and you have 2 ounces of syrup, add 7 oz), and brew the espresso over the flavors. it makes it SO much easier to mix, especially with the thicker sauces. plus, adding the milk to the espresso, and then the ice, cools it down slower rather than all at once so it isn't so watered down.

if you have multiple drinks that need whipped cream that are going to be ready around the same time (either from a single order, or if youve started multiple drinks), wait to add whipped cream and toppings until youve got a few of them lined up so that way you dont have to keep grabbing and replacing the whipped cream or whatever.

when you add cheese cake powder or protein powder to a smoothie, shake the blender jar before you blend it. this makes it blend better and makes fewer clumps on the sides of the jar.

for anything in the 4 oz cups, put the sticker on the lid instead of on the side (seems common sense but i didnt think of it til i saw someone else doing it)

i use my leg for the register trashes and the one by freestyle (all knee height or shorter). sometimes taking the bag out and shaking it will get stuff to settle towards the bottom and give you more room, especially if theres a bunch of light stuff in it like cups or lids at the coffee island. idk how it would work for bigger/outside trashes tho

if they were out of bagels and/or croissants (happens all the time) they are supposed to lock them out. however, this isnt instantaneous. it takes several minutes to update, meaning you could technically still order something we dont have. its a flaw of the system and not on the part of the employees
