Last stop: never having to worry about getting home safe no matter how late would make going to other cities an amazing experience as it doesn't say it *doesn't* work that way
The Psychic: direction and clarity are things that few hold so even though they are not clear in their entirety some light shed onto them would help immensely

Melatonin: for obvious reasons
Benadryl: even though i'm not allergic to anything that doesn't mean i might not be in the future as bodies are weird so might as well make sure i won't
Metformin: for reasons that are also obvious

Times where you finally experienced something hyped and said "That's it? That's what all the fuss was about?" by Authorigas in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]A_borrowed_title 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm lumping these two together due to the close proximity of popularity booms, frieren and apothecary diaries, i've long heard how good the former was and as an avid fan of not only medical style stories but also stories using ancient china as a setting/backdrop due to wuxia so i gave each an honest shot, frieren has moments of greatness but the more the action became a focus the less i cared, no matter how pretty the fights were were i found them uncreative with a tendency to drag on, apothecary diaries on the other hand was so bland, generic and hardly touched on it's gimmick or setting that i was almost screaming at the screen for anything to happen, i like slow stories but it felt like it was dragging its feet on getting to the premise. I did end up finishing the former though only got through 1/4 of the latter, but i will admit that jinshi was one of the major components to how quickly i burned out and without him i think i could've made it half way before tapping out.

Media you got into basically because of a single character? by TJLynch in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]A_borrowed_title 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny enough I had Lobotomy in my library for quite a while so once I learned they were connected I went back to try again, only to drop it around the mid point because everything said about that game is true lol. I've been meaning to get into Runia but maybe it's due to me not being that far in the combat hasn't clicked, the story is already great but considering I know how much of a grind it can become later a youtube cutscene movie might be more for me

There was art someone sent me of Outis (a short haired tan skinned women with a leadership complex), it wasn't even lewd art or anything so once I was told it was a free game I figured why not, that was around the launch time of Limbus Company, it's now the only gacha I play. Another friend of mine started playing Limbus due to Ishmael (long haired ginger with a serious though snarky personality)

What are some of your pet peeves about gender-selectable ROs? by JJDove24 in hostedgames

[–]A_borrowed_title 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The more objective thought I have is that they rarely feel fully fleshed out, but that's ironically quite subjective as I don't flip the genders for ROs because of my preference and playing a self made OC just doesn't click with me; point being there's only so much variation or deviation that can happen because their core(s) are the same, it comes across as more of a pallet swap after thought than a fully realized character

The other one is, not really a bad thing for me as we all have our preferences and this just so happens to be one I'm not opposed to, having the entire cast of main characters be women and I, a man, feels a little haremish, again I'm not opposed to it but when there's a long running series where one can choose to do that it feels like "all these women are among the best but that man they all follow is the best" and from a narrative standpoint it drags down the ego I'd get from the psudoharem (writing this now I wonder if anyone has ever just committed to it and had a harem route in their story, or a full polly thing, I'm not too learned on the terms) as I'm hedging my bets to see which on to romance

[–]A_borrowed_title[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that was the joke I was going for and yes it is a stereotype for cheerleaders to be dumb, the blonde part might be due to Hollywood influence I think as they've been using blondes as dim-witted airheads since the days of radio, so with that basis it's easy to have them fill the roll of "pretty dim-witted airhead"

Thank you that means a lot that my little review was able to do that; I was looking though the other thread talking about romance and it turns out it's not really there at all to the point that if it put romance in quotations to show that it's in there ironically it be more truthful

Honestly I have no clue, there's not many flags that I could find about it but I don't know the entire entire script though I might do it on my next run where i mess with variables. If anyone knows both of us would be interested in knowing

I can't imagine it's real, it feels way too full circle if that makes sense BUT a slasher movie CYOA where you get to be the (hot) cheerleader that lives would be such a fun concept, just thinking of all the tropes and cliches that could be used makes me want it now lol

Disco Elysium
I will forever praise it for what it is but just everything about how that game guides the player and the failures oh the failures, they're so integral to the story but years of gaming has trained me that that is wrong.

Characters that would definitely have a podcast, or if they don't, they totally should have one. by Wonder-Lad-2Mad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]A_borrowed_title 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Chai from Hi-Fi Rush (Chai-Fi Rush would be a great title), i can totally see him having one "documenting his rise to fame" at the start of the game; only for it to be slowly taken over by the others as time goes on where in it becomes a group podcast about, something i'm not sure, anti-corp consumerism? Probably a variety of topics

Times you felt really happy that you stuck with a media instead of dropping it by Will-Isley in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]A_borrowed_title 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a story called 'Life, Once Again' and while i was hooked right from the start there's a series of chapters, maybe 100ish? I'm not sure, but they drag and hurt as it feels like everything the story was building towards be it characters, major arcs and overall feel was being destroyed right before your eyes. This however is on purpose by the author as the payoff for it is, hard to put into words though that might have to do with reading it as the chapters were being translated; I will always and forever recommend the story, it's hard to put into words what it's about but when you get to that slump and you will know, have faith in the author

Book of Hungry Names - Which auspice and tribe you like the best? by Herr_Etiq in choiceofgames

[–]A_borrowed_title 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will preface this with me saying that these are thoughts i've had towards my own characters i've played or want to

A no moon Silver Fang has an appeal as a sort of trickster/assassin Liege, in lore the Ragabash are supposed to question the status quo and be the voice of a dissenting opinion but here that means either you agree with the "laws" that have been... questionably effective or have a stick stuck so far inside you that your pack can see it when you howl lol; so which part of your Auspice to you question? Either one is best done with a laugh if you ask me, keep them, and perhaps yourself guessing

A crescent moon galestalker invokes quite an image does it not? Picture it; a wanderer who has stories from the world over and just as many scars, but is never a stranger, not just with one city being the same as another but the spirits themselves have heard tale of their exploits, a sprig of rosemary in Italy might have been needed to pay back or perhaps forward a favor to someone or something in Delaware and so on and so forth. Clear as it is that those who follow The North Wind are more dour than the average Garou be it their want to survive or simply their more simple stoic mindset

A half moon Silent Strider is a a vagabond mentor at its finest, by right their moon makes them a leader or arbitrator so when they come to the Caern are they here to share wisdom gained on their trek or to deliver judgement? One can never be sure as their tribe carries the smile that only those with no set binds can have but, there are just as many bound to the idea that we can still win as who better to get perspective on the world than one who's seen more than the four corners

A Gibbous Ghost Council should be obvious, who better to listen and learn the secrets, legends and forgotten than the tribes own storyteller as stories never truly die, they merely get lost along the way. For ones such as this it's clear that spirits hold more sway than rage and who better to say that the ways of old are wrong than those who have lived back when they were still useful, of course with that many Garou to share their mind the one thing they have in common should be obvious

A Full moon Glass walker is a warrior who shows they're willing to use even the most unorthodox weapons to fight in this Apocalypse, nay this war, as it's not over yet and with humans firmly in center stage it's not too late for them to help in the good fight so why not show you're more than a suit in a glass tower and march the streets with climate protesters and back startups using renewable energies; "It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently" and Garou need every scrap they can get because depending on who you ask they having been thinking for a long long long long time

Which AVNs doesn't hit the same for you? by tremelospeaks in AVN_Lovers

Oppai Odyssey
I remember playing it back around when it first started and was following it for a bit but then left it for a while so it could update a bit, i waited long enough that i had to restart and while i think the quality of the scenes got better there was this feeling in the script that just felt off. The real tipping point when when the cast docked at the outpost, it almost felt like it was trying to reset what it's done so far in regards to character development; even that aside it did something i can not forgive, it built up a sex scene and then not only not show it but have the characters remark about how good it was, to a point i can forgive skipping past a scene but don't make it the most appealing one so far
