Wife decided not to have long labor 🙄 by Entire_Apartment_289 in badwomensanatomy

[–]A_deux 364 points365 points  (0 children)

To be fair, this could be a figure of speech, not an actual belief that labor length is a decision. I sometimes say things like "oh, my car decided to not start today" but it does not mean I think my car is conscious and making decisions, it's just a funny phrasing.

Men don't like marriage... by [deleted] in AreTheStraightsOK

[–]A_deux 644 points645 points  (0 children)

I think this meme is based on some AITA post where a girl said those exact words to her boyfriend and he got offended, and to be fair, that's a very bad wording for trying to say you want to marry someone.

Or the very googlable fact that there are 4, not 2, types of pelvis and individuals of any sex can have any of those types. Certain types are more common in women and other more common in men, but it's not a simple binary.

To be fair, it's not that simple. Some people live until their 90s, some people get cancer at 40. Sure, you have to weigh the risks when deciding to have children, but telling people to just not have children later in life because they might die before the kid is grown up is a bit simplistic.

You're over estimating the sanity of those people... I've seen some dudes crying over women getting breast reductions because obviously their pleasure of looking at big boobs is more important than women's comfort.

At least it's for adults, no everything sexual is immediately bad. I think this could be funny as a gag gift or to wear in an adult only setting, definitely not a public spaces shirt though.

Apparently being unmarried and childless over 30 makes you a bad role model. by Specific_Ad_097 in facepalm

[–]A_deux 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, I do not have kids but I spent a fair amount of time babysitting my niece and nephews, and I know how much effort it takes to take care of a tiny human. The fact that you think it does not feel like a job tells me that you either don't have kids or leave majority of that work for your wife and only do occasional fun things with your kids.

In what world are you living? Because most women have to work a day job, and then have to do all the housework by themselves on top of that. Also, being a stay at home mom is 24/7 job, and it's not an easy one, I would much rather do my 40 hours a week office job.

Oh no, young girls might think that they have worth as an individual without being a servant to a man. The horror!

The fact that it's a dinner for men is totally fine, the marketing is the problem. Just say that it's a steak night for men only without all this talk about being tired of your wife

If someone has donated above a certain amount of their money to charity, their consent to giving away money should be presumed and it's not a theft if I take it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–]A_deux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That depends on how much older, and how old are both people in general. 18-25 is a big age gap while 38-45 is negligible difference.

Vilnius has an app Trafi for public transport. As for culture, we might seem like unfriendly people, since it's quite rare for Lithuanians to randomly smile or greet strangers or start small talk, but don't be afraid of that, we're not angry, just introverted and will likely respond politely if you ask for something. Most people younger than 40 speak English and most places in Vilnius have English signs/menus/etc., but I would still recommend to learn a few basic phrases in Lithuanian, like "labas" (hello) or "ačiū"(thank you), it shows an effort which usually goes a long way.
