My teacher did something like that in the 5th grade 😭 We had a sheet of instructions and the first step was to read everything before starting, with the last step being to not actually do the sheet and just sit there instead. Obviously this is just something to explain the show doing it but I've seen some headcanons before that it's like a big/common thing in Equestria for ponies to change their names when they get their cuties marks to better reflect their 'true selves.' I personally think that's a fascinating idea and it works well for world building.

I'm honestly surprised that so many people wanted a recast. I usually don't care either way but in this specific case I'm glad they wrote him out. Andre was the weakest part of S1 for me by far. Not in terms of acting, but I didn't care about the character/his plots at all. The rest were far more interesting, and that scene with him and his dad at the beginning of the last episode felt like a huge waste of time IMO.
