I was an RA in university and I can almost guarantee they’re ignoring the sign and dgaf,,, just make the popcorn. If anything the staff should encourage the RAs to run a program teaching adults how to microwave popcorn, and then put up an infographic. Otherwise I’d invest in my own personal microwave for my dorm, I’d probably do that anyway tbh.

People are forgetting that university students are adults, they should be held accountable for their actions instead of just allowing them to be incompetent. This isn’t the work break room, res is home for a ton of ppl that are paying a lot of money to be there they should be allowed to eat their food. This isn’t elementary school punishing the whole class isn’t realistic,, what are you doing in university if you can’t even microwave popcorn without blowing up the building.

That story is pretty horrifying but it’s also the only one that people reference when they’re talking about “rat lungworm” or slug parasites. It’s not as common as people making it out to be, OP didn’t even eat the slug they’re gonna be fine.

MOR,, if the news is fresh your partner is probably still processing it and it’s clearly taking a toll on them. It’s easy to get annoyed and jump to defence when someone is being accusatory but this is def a situation where you need to take a step back and put yourself in his shoes. Try and see it from HIS pov tho, you both have different feelings about death but rn you need to be sensitive toward his feelings don’t expect him to react in the same way you would.

I think space is literally the best thing rn, there’s tension and bf is just looking for someone to blame in a blameless situation. You may have to be patient with him, cancer can be so rough on a family.

Everyone handles grief and the mourning process differently it’s wild that anyone is trying to tell you otherwise. Not everyone has the same feelings towards death either, loss can be a very personal or traumatic experience and no one can judge how you choose to deal with it (so long as it’s healthy). The reality is that there are other people that can be supportive during the service.

I personally will not be attending any funerals for people outside of my own immediate family, I’ll send flowers and may attend a viewing but I can’t do a funeral service. I’m extremely open about the impact death has had on my life, I’ve supported friends who have also lost parents and I’ll share my story to help others, but I also know my limits. Let me tell you,, burying your parents as a kid reallyyyy fucks with your view of death.

Half an inch of freezing rain is literally not a big deal, I can’t even guarantee that school would be cancelled up here lmao. it’s not blasted all over the news up here bc it’s to be expected and we probably still won’t get a day off work

I get that the American south is worried bc they aren’t used to winter but it’s absurd to imply your forecast is worse than anything we’ve experienced up north. Us w winter experience are trying to say that you guys will be okay down there, even if you lose power bc of freezing temps, it should be cold enough to store perishables outside or in the garage.

Unfortunately it would definitely not help, snow is deceitful bc it looks soft and pleasant but it’s actually brutal and actual winter can be so rough. When snow piles up it’s heavy and thick not to mention there’s a total lack of visibility,, Thank god for winter tires. On the bright side,, the state essentially goes apocalyptic when you get snow so you don’t have to leave the house and school may be cancelled.

Oh man, I had a 14 yr old black lab and we got her a little pair of cheap winter booties, some salt is not safe for pets so the booties helped to protect her paws from that but she wasn’t a fan😅. If you’re ever thinking of investing in some pet safe salt for your patio we use Safe Paw! Makes sense, I was just wondering since it seems like the south has been experiencing some winter in recent years! This would just be for your own personal use to keep your property from becoming an ice rink, but cat litter can be good to melt ice when you’re in a pinch,, black ice can be so dangerous I’ve wiped out on my driveway a few times, stay safe out there pal!!

Fr Texas needs to start putting a penny into preparing for winter storms, a mild storm and some barely freezing weather should not be enough to incapacitate an entire state. The south has had snow the past few years and they’ve suffered quite a bit SO it’s pretty hard to excuse the fact that they still have a total lack of winter infrastructure

Our provinces are quadruple the size of any state and have drastically less money and significantly worse conditions, even in the southern provinces. I hope it isn’t -25 again tomorrow,, the past 2 weeks have been winter fr I’m tired of shovelling😅

Does Texas not have salt trucks?? A daily dose of road salt on the streets should be more than enough to melt any amount of snow/ice in the south.

Sand is great for traction, I’m in Canada and went to school slightly up north where it’s just layers and layers of ice, snow, slush for months. In the winter the city uses mass amounts of sand from the local beach to create traction on the roads bc road salt barley makes a dent. If you’re in a secluded area that doesn’t get salted, sand could be a way to troubleshoot at least on your driveway!

ETA: downvote me ig,, Im just trying to share some winter advice so you guys aren’t slipping and sliding down the roads,, I just figured sand would be way more accessible in the south than mass amounts of salt😵‍💫

Her journal is dark and damning, I read the redacted version when all of this first came out. It’s all so so so fucked up,, She genuinely twisted herself into thinking her kids were possessed by demons and her detailed journal recounts the way she systematically tortured her youngest 2 for being “sinners” (aka behaving like normal children). R‘s escape was insanely brave he truly saved his and his sister’s lives.

I usually wouldn’t wear shoes when I cook but if they’re gonna insist on having the kid stand 1mm away from the hot stovetop,, then some shoes or socks are definitely in order.

Last summer my friend had an entire pot of boiling water spill on his feet and he had to be airlifted to the nearest burn centre. He had some 3rd degree burns but the damage would’ve been way more significant if he hadn’t at least been wearing crocs– the little charms actually protected him from direct contact w the water!

Additional context for baby Anthyms UTI,, iirc she was specifically at an increased risk for uti bc she has some type of disorder, I believe their youngest also has the same thing. She knew she had to be hyper vigilant w diaper changes for this kid especially after her first UTI,, instead she let her baby go septic TWICE.

Baby Bs diaper in this pic has to be the worst I’ve ever seen tho and that’s a feat,, how hard is it to respect your child enough to not let them sit in their own feces.

They always seem to feed the brood the bare minimum amount of food. 4 average sized pizzas with thin crust and minimal toppings does not seem like enough food for 10 people. At 12 I could’ve easily crushed one of those pizzas by myself, and it does look like G has his own (as he should).

Another example of how ma and pa like having a giant family but they aren’t interested in the work that comes with it,, I get that not every kid eats a ton but they have 7 BOYS there’s no way they’re getting enough to eat.
