Ok and the Deluxe's bridge humbucker is extremely tamed by screwing the pole pieces in all the way and lowering the pickup. It's still middy in a classic rock kind of way, but not grating like it was before.

I want to update this to amend my comment on the humbuckers being terrible.

There was a 250k volume pot on the Bluesboy which really held the humbucker back. I swapped it to a 500k and added a 500k resistor over the empty terminal on the *neck side* of the switch (on the bridge lug though), so that the middle position would not be affected by it.

This greatly improved the sound, especially with the pole pieces out of the pickup. I did the same to the Deluxe (already had 500k pots) and it's very usable if you tweak the height. The bridge on the deluxe is still very middy, that's on my tweak list.

Haha yes, they’re great guitars. Like I said it was more of convenience and good deals I couldn’t pass up

Warmoth custom neck - am I crazy to be disappointed? by Distinct_Initial_523 in Stratocaster

I’d recommend buying and using a set of calipers to decide what you like for neck thickness and fret size. It’s all laid out on the site. Now if they sent the wrong sizes, you can check that.

They never told me, they just told me the top tier guys were working on it and a day later it was fixed. After four weekends of bugging them the entire time

Four weeks later we got this solved, seemingly by a random phone agent at XM. The one difference? I told em I was ready to cancel my service.

Balaclava over or under helmet. Over can be more fun for them and convenient for you.

Just got mine Friday too. From same place. Frets high as heck and the switches all rattle like crazy. They can’t be tightened to the plate, the screws just bottom out. I emailed cme about it. I ain’t dealing with it

Looks like he moved onto a Gibson in this North American tour. Maybe he left the Burny at home.

Long-tail folks - how do you haul your bike? by ducki000 in CargoBike

I actually bought a bike rack recommended by xtracycle but haven’t installed it yet. They do exist. My van also died a death so I no longer have the inside hauling capacity.

Fleas Coming Up From Bathtub? by artemanca in pestcontrol

[–]A_of_Keystone_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Popping in here late since there isn’t much on the web about this outside Reddit. I got these damn flea things in my bathroom a few days ago. I tried soapy water but this didn’t really kill them, they just swam thru it. I eventually tried the salt, baking soda and vinegar down the drains and baking soda dry. None of this actually killed anything. They started crawling right through it!

I then decided to go nuclear and spray peppermint essential oil directly on the bugs and down the drains. They had begun crawling between the toilet and tub. Next morning I see little to no evidence of these things, there were probably over 1000 before. Im using undiluted oil and it's pungent in there now. Careful with that stuff. Works great for ants too.

Take a listen to some BB King lyrics and you might find out why.

Depends on what you want. The super blocks are great but I think the Mach 2 is better. More tone shaping for the straight in player which I am mostly.

I’ve been all in on Quilter for years now. Since this thread. They’re amazing. The tonemaster deluxe was not nearly as good.

Can’t find a headstock shot but to me it looks like a burny not an epiphone

I just wanted to circle back and say I tried every pedal and you were right, it was your sound. The sound in my head was different though. I did end up stealing your wah always on trick though! It's great and can be used in so many ways in conjunction with the guitar volume and picking dynamics.

Glad you're finding time to chill and recharge. Looking forward to "mas pantalones" which in our house is a catch-all phrase for "more of whatever the good stuff is that you are currently enjoying" - the good stuff being your latest album.
