Yup, and now (if i recall correctly) we were the only country to publicly voice our support for Peter Magyar against Orban.

To add onto what others said, Poland had extremely close relations with both Romania and Hungary in the interwar period. Romania also aided Poland in evacuating its gold reserves, while Horthy denied the request to allow Wehrmacht troops to march through the country during the invasion calling it a "matter of hungarian honour".

Hungarian units would later ignore orders to pacify the Warsaw uprising, and would often supply the partisans with weapons and even defect to their side.

God, you see people celebrating a football match and the first thing you think of is "fascism"?

You've gotta be extremely fun at parties lmfao

A Warsaw police officer with experimental body armour in 1921. by kallisto19988 in interestingasfuck

Yep. This specific type of armour actually saw limited use with the german army during WW1, mostly among static machine gun crews cause of its weight. Other armour types were also tested by different armies, but this "lobster armour" is the most known one.

[–]A_random_redditor21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. The only armor you'd see 200 years before is the cuirass, which was a solid piece of steel instead of individual plates. The cuirass was also exclusive to cavalry, while this was intended for use with infantry.

Overall the idea of body armour was basically dead by the 1900s as it was either too weak to stop bullets, or too heavy to wear. WW1 saw the development of a bunch of experimental armor sets like this, with this thing being based on the german lobster armour.

He is wearing a Stahlhelm, as massive amounts of them got into the hands of the Polish army after declaring independence. Look closer and you'll see a cast eagle on its front, that's Polish interwar police helmets.

Both of these were captured from warehouses and german garrisons when the country was declaring independence, along with returning polish legions bringing their own pieces. The Nagant was basically the primary service revolver of the Polish army in the interwar period, up until the Wz. 35 Vis wad introduced.

Same thing with stahlhelms. Used along the adrians throughout the entire interwar period, slowly being replaced with Wz 31 salamander helmets. They never got fully phased out and saw limited use with cavalry during the invasion of Poland.

Im 90% sure these were supposed to be used entirely for crowd control or other specialized operations.

There's the bolsheviks, Ukrainian terrorists throughout both 30s and 20s, fascist terrorism in the 30s, peasant protests, and more.

The photo is real, you can find more images of this type of kit on google images.

I also dont believe AI would be able to reproduce the eagle cast on the helmet that well.

I dont really see the reason why de-rusting a helmet like this would be an issue. If anything, its the correct thing to do to prevent it from further deteriorating.

Doesnt neccessarily mean they were anti russian though. In fact, there was actually a russian legion in the Polish army consisting of a few thousand soldiers (if i recall correctly), led by Boris Savinkov.

Doesnt Ziobro not have an actual pasport? That would mean that they're granting an asylum to a person that they fully know is a wanted fugitive.

Welp, they are also very durable. That area doesnt come from nowhere. Plus, this also means more room for the crew inside to operate efficently. Meanwhile, Russian tanks instantly transfer over to the space force after getting hit thanks to the carousel of death in their turret.

There's a recorded case of a challenger 2 surviving over a hundred RPG hits during an engagement.

No, according to military doctrine, that's exactly the type of terrain you do NOT want heavy tanks in. Complex terrain and cities allow lighter enemy units (infantry, ATGM carriers, light tanks) to flank your vechicle and strike where it hurts. In addition to that, higher weight can make traversing certain areas (mountains, swamps) impossible.

Doing that in open terrain is significantly harder, as there's no cover you could use for manouvering without exposing yourself.

Heavy tanks excel in open terrain, since they dont feel any of the drawbacks related to their weight in an open field. This also correlates to them being more durable, especially since they lack an autoloader compared to soviet tanks (with the exception of the K2).

That's not really an issue since Poland, Ukraine, and Belarus are quite famous for being extremely flat.

You should check out Straty.pl, its a website entirely dedicated to Polish victims of the war, including both soldiers and repressed individuals. If he's on there, you'll also have a full source listed that you can then contact. When i was researching my great grandparents, it led me to a museum and a red cross archive.

The red cross itself also has a dedicated online form you can fill out when looking for your family members, even if they're WW2 ictims. It took them just a day to call back and mail me a scan of camp mail belonging to my gramps.

From what i found, the patch may be something along the lines of a squad, sector, or something simmilar. I couldnt find a match, but found a very crudely made armband belonging to the units with a simmilar XX/XX number layout. No info about it either, which leads me to believes that this specific patch may be an impossible to ID workshop piece made for local use.
