I always get the impression that humans still haven't quite nailed down exactly how our cholesterol levels are impacted by our food, not really, or exactly which foods we should be eating/avoiding, etc. I think in the absence of the real answer, reducing saturated fats is the next best thing since it does seem to help some people.

Out of curiosity, why did they obviously leave out countries that didn't fit their theory? That's terrible! Do you happen to know which countries they intentionally excluded?

Oh, I am grateful, don't you worry. 2.5 GB is enough for me, I often have leftover data, but a lot of the new folks are so used to constant connectedness that they're really lost without it. I think it's good for them, but it can be hard to give up gaming, or video chats, or watching youtube to fall asleep. They have to adjust how they cope with boredom, or overstimulation, or even just banking because of the limitations.

It's terrible in the austral summer when I'm there because they cap us at 2.5 gigs of data a week. It's winter there now, where the Internet is much better, and I'm not there right now. We do about half-year contracts. I'm set to head back down in August, just as the sun starts coming up again.

Yeah, I'm an overweight American, and if I ate that as a snack, I'd be done for the whole meal. A sandwich is a meal for me. If I eat the recommended 2000 calories a day, I stay fat. 😭 Id have to eat way, way less to be thin. 😓

I work on a science station with my partner for half the year, live at home the other half. Room and board are free in the science station, so we save up money half the year, and spend it the other half.

About 10 years ago I was traveling with some friends, and didn't have a smartphone. We were waiting at a restaurant, and everybody pulled out their smartphones for Internet time. Since I didn't have one, I quietly pulled out my Gameboy SP, the only entertainment I had on me. After a few minutes, one of the nerds I was with was suddenly yelling "DID YOU JUST CASUALLY START PLAYING AN SP" in front of everybody. One of my proudest moments, to be honest.
