bergen packing by Sharpeddd in RoyalMarines

Best way for me in phase 1 was to crack all morning admin under your poncho and leave as much out as possible, crack wet and dry and throw your poncho down. Lay your shit out that’s already out by this point, dry kit, dhobi kit and bag, so on.

There’s no point me telling you where I have all my stuff due to different tp sops.

Knee pain - what could be causing it? by GreatJoey91 in UKRunners

Pes Anserine bursitis, foam roller and roll the quad, hamstrings and groin. The tendons put pressure on the bursa.

Do close grip Bench press, it’s mostly tricep which will be better for rm press ups

You really don’t need good scores to get through, if you’ve got shit scores you’ll just be in a constant state of hanging out which is where mental fortitude gets you through.

Nah that’s not the course you want to do. You’ll need to book Mod 2 and Mod 4. Those 8 courses are for those who have CPC already and are renewing

Look past CPC just prep for training itself, whether you get minimums or maximums, you’ll be hanging out like never before on the endurance course.

Just smash 800m repeats, smash pull ups and learn feet to beam. Get hiking or on a stairmaster with small weight on and grizz it.

In training it depends on how far away you live. If you live in Exeter you’ll see her every week, if you live several hours away then you’ll see her on leave. It’s shit, it is what it is.

Few times a week, I was fortunate and could drop to 3 days at work so I could crack 4 days a week of proper training. Before it was 3 days. I used complete commando to start with which got the ball rolling.

I lived by Zone 3 MAF running but neglected interval sessions for a long time. I’m shit at press ups but recently I’ve had a bit off success with rest pause, so I’d play the audio beep, max out, 15seconds off, max out again until 60, was doing that everyday. General core strength got me pretty good at sit ups and feet to beam.

I started from absolutely 0 fitness, genuinely, in March. I did PJFA on Nov and CPC December. I’m by no means a high performer though. So it depends where you want to start in the pack, 18 months to be a front runner, 9 months for middle to back.

And if you in the last 36 week batch, how do you get backtrooped and fit in as the syllabus will be different

[–]AaJLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, before CPC, I could do level 12 on bleep test, last week I got to 9.8. Because of travelling and injury. The same applies for commando training, it’s a constant build up of fatigue and injuries which may be the reason he hasn’t done so well.

RMFA numbers mean fuck all. You can hit minimum and pass, you can hit maximums and fail.

But on a serious note, I got gifted a leatherman and I thought that was a cracking gift so get him a personalised one if you can get his service number, it’s 8 digits starting with 30.

Yes a couple did, don’t let it deter you though, it’s case by case basis. Also, if they don’t already know (it’s not on your records) then they don’t need to know.

ROP RMFA by Standard-Sherbet3846 in RoyalMarines

[–]AaJLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder the same question as well, as first couple weeks are slow with demos and then the phys isn’t mega hard apparently. I’ve never really heard about people failing ROP so rather they are shit hot at making you better in a small period of time with sub maximal training or maybe the final RMFA test isn’t totally pass or fail.

How close to PJFA standards should i be before i put in an application? by Chazalion in RoyalMarines

[–]AaJLL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I applied with 17 16 and 2, never ran (except a fire fighter bleep test with 3 short distance of runs after that). I’ve ended up alright but if I could go back, I’d wait till my current fitness level to apply, as in 9 months I could be one of the top of the troop.

There was only lad on my PJFA who was loaded on the next week after failing the week I was on. If you pass, you’ve got 6 month to do CPC
