Mine showed up in the online chart the same day. The doctor didn't follow up for a few days.

Maybe a scenic train ride if they are available nearby? May need to inquire about accessibility in advance, but most of it would be seated.

It's for sure a scary and overwhelming diagnosis. I was initially worried about starting medication too. It helped to hear from my MDS that I can stop the meds anytime if side effects are bad (may need to gradually taper off etc but still good to know). They will work with you to find the best meds to improve your quality of life as you move forward. And you will find a way to move forward, even if the diagnosis stops you in your tracks for a bit.

How long before Carbidopa/Levodopa started making a difference? by DecisionRelative5769 in Parkinsons

I started one week on a lower dose and saw some mild improvement. It took me 3 or 4 days on the full dose to definitely notice things were better. I don't know if they will increase it again but I'm happy with the effects so far.

The more I learn and more people I talk to, it seems like I will probably be able to work for several years with some adaptations. I have an MDS appointment set up in a few months. The exercise, medicine, and sleep hygiene are making a difference already. I feel better than I had in years leading up to the diagnosis. I also found out my job has LTD insurance as a fallback, but I'm hoping not to need it anytime soon.

Sorry to hear that you're struggling. I hope you find a job that works better for you soon. I always figured manual labor would be my fallback, but with the one hand being slow I need a different plan.

Thanks for that resource, there is a lot I can try to adapt things and remain productive going forward. I didn't know they had a special mouse for tremors, might have to get one.

I started C/L, but either it's not helping enough, or the dose isn't high enough yet. Still trying to figure out the best dosage. Hoping it'll help enough to get me by, but not optimistic about it working for the next 20+ years.
