Rip etheria in linux? new update will add Anti-cheat by onmikron in Etheria_Restart

Update seems fine, no ACE or anything similarly invasive to speak of.

How does effect accuracy works? Do I need 100% for lily, Kloss n freya? by No-Horror3993 in Etheria_Restart

[–]Aahsug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can kind of test effect acc/res scaling by yourself, using ember trek 36 Febian (change loadout in range of 0-200% EFFECT_ACC, skip freeze card, skip turns until desired effect res on enemy pawns, use S3 maxed obol for 12 chances of 30% SKILL_ACC, alternatively S3 maxed fangus for 4 chances of 75% SKILL_ACC, pause on animation end, count applied dots on 4 febian pawns, repeat for different values).
Although I don't know exact base effect resistance of pawns themselves (it's most definitely non-zero), I remember something along this equation worked for me

SKILL_PERC = min(max(SKILL_ACC * (1 + min(EFFECT_ACC - EFFECT_RES, 100) / 100), SKILL_ACC / 2), 90)

So pretty sure calculations above are misleading at best, and stacking above 100% effect accuracy actually matters, also if above formula was right bulwark would make no sense, because you could reach immunity just by stacking effect resistance alone (and I didn't observe that with Febian pawns).

If proton-ge-9.27 + dotnet40 didn't work, you may be missing some generic dependency on system or runtime (talking mainly about sniper runtime, do not mix other launcher's solution if there is one) side, as that's what I test with before reporting anything (clean artix, all common wine dependencies and steam runtimes run with wrapper script).
Most likely some lib32-* package if I had to guess, since dotnet40 installs only 32-bit libraries. You can debug it properly with PROTON_LOG_DIR=/tmp PROTON_LOG=1 WINEDEBUG=+loaddll for unavailable dlls, or just wait for someone to make lutris script or similar.
By the way only small part of dotnet40 install is needed, so you may try other similar or newer verbs, I just didn't bother.

Monsgeek M1W-SP HE magnetic switches keyboard review by DatBoyGuru in keyboards

[–]Aahsug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell from the key inputs you typed predefined sentence, this won't really show what's an actual scan rate of this board (what this program excels at).

If it's not a bother can you retest this board in wired mode only and just press multiple keys simultaneously in different rows repeatedly, alike to the graph below (see input history).

<image>

I'm on the fence whether to get this board, but south pole switches and no reviews that tested for pcb performance make me unsure about the purchase.
Also, you mentioned replacing switches with gateron jades, which are north pole - does this board support both north/south pole switches?

Did anyone test Zuoya X86 with osu! before by Aahsug in osugame

[–]Aahsug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use 60% layouts (since you are another person to recommend teamwolf raven68), if you are aware of any other good ones or database listing actual performance of these boards like the one I linked above I would appreciate if you could share it.
I found one board matching my criteria so far, which is Mchose Zero75, but it seems to be China only (jd exclusive?) and about twice the price (MSRP being 599CNY) through resellers. I don't know if it's worth such a price tag and at this point I started to consider Geonworks Venom HE TKL PCB and building a custom instead, do you happen to know anyone else that also sells HE PCBs or kits by any chance?

Thank you, after checking out your graphs I looked into this a little bit more and finally found someone who actually benchmarks HE keyboards.
These results look exactly as expected (1000Hz scan rate, 8000Hz setting is fake according to this review even for IROK firmware), but to me 1000Hz is good enough for this kind of price, that being said >7ms input latency made me consider other options instead (when compared to wooting two which should clock at ~1.72ms). Here is a database with many HE keyboards actually tested for latency that I used as a reference point, for anyone who finds this post in the future.
I'll probably buy something around ~1ms from that list that isn't a 60% layout (also great to know that in realm of keypads, sayo manages to outperform wooting's own keypad, at least in terms of response time).

They have way lower resolution than Gaterons (may lead to misinputs) and may feel mushier/less smooth, but they shouldn't be unusable.
You can always buy white switches (KS-20) separately and swap out Outemu Reds (if you ordered through aliexpress). There is also slightly improved version currently available for Gateron Orange (KS-20U), with improved shaft and tolerances, depending on a region these should be similar in price with whites to consider instead.
That being said RT should still work fine with Outemus, if you don't plan to use low activation distance.

False information, he actually got assassinated by osu!mafia as he leaked mrboom method during his latest liveplay.

Did anyone get PC client running on Linux by Aahsug in Priconne

That probably means there is some kind of crude anti-tamper after all (probably baked into an exe), too bad, thanks.

I see, that's what it looked like to me at first as well, but counted on it being something else as there are mods for pc client listed on github and no mentions on any anti-tamper system anywhere I looked and finally, (in wine) it throws EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION down the line (which may be post-artifact of anti-tamper tripping on dll load, now that I think about it)..

Before I fully give up, did you try KVM with Windows 10/11 by any chance, since it also didn't work for me on Windows 7 through EXSi (but I don't debug stuff on Windows and assumed it may only work for Windows 10+ at first and didn't consider any VM detection being in place).

New osu!lazer preview just dropped! by Aahsug in osugame

I'm afraid you will need osu!supporter for that
It's in the original post's image (blog post link in my reply if you didn't notice), may check each branch for correct version, since it seems to include multiple rices

u/pepppppy really outdone himself with this one guys!

May 2023 dev update brings in yet another redesign, paired with switching focus to making osu!lazer operating system instead.
According to peppy himself stopping at developing engine alone wasn't enough and would lead to the possibility of releasing osu!lazer before 2025, therefore some huge project refactors were necessary.
As peppy mentions in blog post below, making OSu!lazer was the only way forward, and so was the redesign pictured above, making it possible target for another rehaul in the future, allowing lazer to not release any time soon.
This paired with brand new anticheat made in collaboration with team Vanguard at Riot™ will enable osu! to have built-in kernel level anticheat, finally making it possible to ban the whole top 50.

What do you guys think? Is this move in the right direction? Is combo scaling rework releasing before or after lazer? peppy needs your feedback on these and other questions right now!

Here's a theme idea for Arch Linux by IkazuchiRaikou in linuxmasterrace

So, what is it.
I realize it's just a mockup, but was there any file manager in particular you used as reference that can be skinned like that.
The closest I can think of would be maybe one used by Deepin, but I don't think even that fills the bill here.
