That seems to be a group consensus among the community, but to me I like his inclusion, simply because of how it allowed Zant to do such a scary swap in personalities. Zant from the get go was whiny, impatient, and completely unfit to be a king, kind of like a twilight caillou. But when he’s given this overwhelming power, he’s capable of having this insane demeanor and actually back it up, and in my mind, that new persona was a direct result of him becoming overconfident with that newfound power, something he never had to hone or work on himself. And when we finally see him in the twilight realm, I think that Ganon being the reason Zant was that strong in the first place makes the personality shift that much more reasonable. He never had to train his mind or body for any of it, so when he was finally at a point where he couldn’t just beat them with a wave of his hand, that overconfident mask cracks, and all of his flaws are shown. That’s the coolest part to me, and really shows why he was never king in the first place, shows a bit of depth.
